Typhoons to the right of us, Typhoons to the left of us!!
Just spend a very pleasant three nights here.
This site exemplifies the variety of CLs, and that each has their own USP. In this case, it's the planes! We saw loads of Typhoon jets going over each day, they seem relatively low and very loud, and very fast!!. We saw some other planes on Sunday, and today as we were leaving we saw a Lancaster take off.
The site is short grass, well drained, marked pitches. Not the largest CL we have ever been on, but all 5 pitches were taken and it did not feel cramped.
Other reviews mention the road - yes, it is busy and as Lincolnshire is an agricultural county, lots of tractors & trailers, and food lorries. We found it went quiet at night, and our sleep was not disturbed. (We were on the Spitfire pitch next to the road)
Cost - £18, inc 10kwh of electricity. Extra electricity used is paid for in addition. We used about half our "allowance" with low wattage kettle and hot water.
You are just round the corner from the Battle of Britain Fleet visitor center, which is also where you can see lots of the planes on the ground (there is a road side viewing area) and taking off.
If you are exploring the extensive aviation history of Lincolnshire, this site is a must.
