Fabulous

We found this lovely CL by chance when looking to move from another not so suitable site so booked on just 2 days before we arrived. We are so glad we did although it was a little more than we usually pay for a CL it was worth every penny. Sarah came out to meet us and showed us to an well kept pitch with fantastic views with nothing but the wildlife and horses to listen to. We were told by Sarah and David told us all about where to find cycle paths the local shops, pubs and lovely walks, you could even buy honey and eggs from them. It was so nice just to sit and relax and watch the Hares, owls, deers and the occasional chicken from your pitch. Just wished the weather was a bit better we had very high winds on one day it was very much appreciated that Sarah and David checked up on everyone to make sure we were all ok. We will definitely return if visiting the area again. Thank you

Darwood CL

A very peaceful site, with a wonderful outlook in a great location. Sarah, our host, gave us a warm welcome and throughout our stay was most helpful and efficient. This was our first time on a CL and Darwood has set the bar high. It has changed my perception on caravanning as this was the most enjoyable stay we have had anywhere and CLs will always now be my first consideration. Mike and Rita Bevan

Peaceful and relaxing

We’ve just arrived home from the most relaxing weekend that we’ve ever had, the site is really well maintained, so peaceful and lovely views over the Lincolnshire countryside. Sarah and David were super hosts with a really friendly welcome on arrival and lots of local knowledge. Plenty of walks and cycle routes if needed, we will certainly be returning 😀

Lots of space and so peaceful

This was our first outing after lockdown so to be welcomed to such a lovely peaceful site was wonderful. Sarah was so accommodating regarding our arrival time which we changed because of the high winds forecast. So much space and lovely open view across the fields so we could watch the swallows swooping, kestrels hovering and a hare racing around the field. We weren’t able to use the facilities which we didn’t mind as we felt safer using our own. Woodhall Spa is such an interesting place and there are great cycle/walking tracks in the area. The icing on the cake for my husband was one day as we were sitting enjoying lunch the Battle of Britain flight, Lancaster bomber etc., flew right overhead. The site is so well kept and it’s really worth talking to the owners and getting some history of the house and surrounding area. Highly recommend this one.

A tranquil retreat to recharge your batteries

Just spent another lovely long weekend at this peaceful site. David and Sarah are the perfect hosts and always give you a warm welcome. The site has a lovely large shower room with toilet as well as a second toilet which are always clean and fresh. This site is perfect for visiting and exploring the many local attractions in the area. The main attraction of this CL to us is it's location, it is not on a bus route, it is in a rural location amongst farmland and is so peaceful and tranquil. You can spend hours gazing at the horses, watching the chickens, admiring the wildlife or simply staring at the wonderful view of rolling fields. This is a wonderful CL to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries.

Peace and Tranquility

We were given a friendly welcome to this lovely site. You can see for miles across the gently rolling landscape. Quiet lanes made it ideal for cycling into both Horncastle in one direction and Woodhall Spa in the other. It was lovely sitting against the peaceful woods, listening to birdsong, spotting the occasional hare, deer and fox. Perfect for a weekend relaxation.

Perfect Peace

Wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely CL. So peaceful and lovely views. No problem picking up wifi near the house but if you need to spend some time on it take a chair with you! 2 toilets, one in the very large shower room. Shower is large and water flow is ok, would have liked a more powerful shower but the trade off for the beautiful location is fine by me. The friendly owner takes good care of the grass, keeping it well mowed. Would definitely recommend.

We've just had 4 magical days at this site, probably the best CL we've stopped at.

We've just had 4 magical days at this site, probably the best CL we've stayed at. The site owners Sarah and David are extremely helpful, great hosts and provide an idyllic retreat, a haven of peace and tranquillity, the abundant bird song is the only sound you hear, great location for a quiet holiday. I would highly rate this site 5 out of 5

Peaceful quiet site

Darwood house farm is just a couple of miles from Woodhall Spa- a small market town. The site is grass (gently slopes- pitches are relatively flat) and has electric hook up etc. What it does not have (but advertises) is WIfi. I was told this activates "near the house but not in the caravans". for many this may not be an issue, but needing to do some work whilst there - thank heavens for mobile tethering. There is a huge shower room (shower is disappointing- a woman would struggle to wash her hair) and two toilets- both very well kept and a two minute walk away. If you just want peace and quiet its a wonderful place to be. Slighly more expensive than other CL sites (£18 per night). Would I return? Possibly just to get away from it all, but only for a couple of days. 4/5 stars for me

Peace, tranquility and enjoyment

Lincolnshire has always conjured up flat, uninteresting landscape and mammoth drives from one little town to the other - HOWEVER our week, spent at this beautiful, quiet site has caused us to re-evaluate. Woodhall Spa is a lovely little village with local shops and a gentle atmosphere. The teahouse in the woods is a must. Fantastic food and excellent service. Afterwards you can visit the unusual Kinema in the woods showing all the latest films. The Petwood Hotel is also a lovely backdrop to enjoy your lunch. The area is extremely interesting and we've realised that Lincolnshire is an extremely underrated area, so much so that if we were retiring, Woodhall Spa would be an excellent home! Finally, the owners have been obliging and helpful. The site is a picture with excellent facilities and a beautiful panoramic view. Close enough to Woodhall Spa, yet far enough away to make you feel as though you were miles from anywhere. Bring your bikes and cycle around the area, or put on your walking boots and enjoy the wildlife. We're trying to work out how soon we can return!
