Welcoming,attractive site

Spent 2 nights in September. Extremely welcoming and helpful. Beautiful spacious site with excellent facilities, especially sanitary and shower. Very easy access to stunning Lincoln cathedral and old centre. Will return.

Great CL site

We visited this site in early September and were most impressed, we decided it was time to make a few cutbacks cost wise and try some CL sites and this one for our first one was a real gem. We rang and booked it 5 or 6 weeks prior and the phone went on the way down and it was the owner telling us that unfortunately he wouldn't be there to greet us but he had marked our pitch with our name! What service, when we arrived one of the caravaners already there who was a regular came out and saw us on to our pitch. The site is in a superb location, hourly bus service into stunning Lincoln with its cathedral, museum of Lincolnshire life and much more, if you have bikes it's a 5 mile trip down the cycle track into the centre of Lincoln, local walks are good, and a pub doing food nearby. Ok there is only one shower and one toilet but we never had to wait and the 50p shower was always enough for us both to shower without having to rush. Les and Barbara were a very nice couple to meet and were very knowledgable and helpful about what to do and see in the area. All in all a lovely little site and we will most certainly go back in the near future and also try more CL sites in 2015. Thanks again. Rog & Pauline

Great spacious site

What a great site only 5 miles from Lincoln which can be accessed via the bus site outside the site or by a old disused railway which is tarmaced so great for walking or cycling. The shower at 50p was lovely and warm and lasted for ages. The toilet was basic but clean. Everyone was very friendly, the owner rang us the night before our arrival as he was going to out to make sure we knew our way and to say he would mark a pitch for our arrival and another camper showed us where everything was.

One of the estr

We have just had our first visit to this cl and after spending a lovely few days here, have added it to our list to visit a couple of times next year. The site has good facilities and each unit has plenty of space. There are excellent walks along the Viking way, which is no more than a quarter of a mile from the site. The owners were very welcoming and pleasant. Oh yeh and there is a good bus service into Lincoln, which saves taking the car.

everything a cl should be

This is a great cl everything we look for, Gravel roads, hard standing, short cut grass, add to this spotless toilet and shower, good TV reception and internet and this site 100% . The be stop just outside takes you into Lincoln and from there any where you want . Lincoln has a bus which takes you all round the city for £4 a day, £1.50 a trip or free with bus pass . Lots to do in the city, museums are free although they close early 3 pm... There is a nice dog walk up to and along the river, paper shop 3/4 mile walk away. Would I recommend definitely. Would I go again definitely

Excellent site

The site is very welcoming, clean and very well cared for. The lovely owners Barbara and Les do everything in their power to make you welcome and your stay comfortable. It is a very restful site and the view is lovely with rolling hills in the background, and horses in the distance. An ideal site for cycling or dog walking, as there is a lovely quiet lane just to the side of the site, and a river and cycle lane close by. The bus runs into Lincoln every hour, so there is no need for the stress of driving and finding a parking place.  Overall we can't find fault with the site, and we will be back again, absolutely no doubt about that.

Very helpful

Great site nice big pitches. Well kept lawns, very handy for Lincoln. The site owner was very helpful when I was taken ill and had to return home allowing us to leave our van on site. Picked it up later. Looking forward to staying here again.

one of the best

This is a great CL near to Lincoln. We have stayed here 3 times and can't fault it. The facility's are good and theirs hard standing pitches. This site is good value for the fees charged. The owner ask for dogs to be kept on leads and quit rightly so. We where staying on a site on August when a dog that was not on a lead attacked me and left me with bruises on my leg and that was the second time this had happened to me while on holiday in the caravan. You know what they say prevention is better than cure. We will be visiting this site again next year as we have family living in Lincoln and would recommend it to anyone.

Not really a CL

My main gripe with this site, is it is not really a CL.  Upon arrival the site manager told us that the site is actually licensed for 10 units, and that they were negotiating with the CC because of this fact.  So do not expect to see a nice secluded 5 van site. The welcome from the site owners was good, and the site itself is nicely laid out, lots of room with some pitches on hard standing.   The site owners seem to be very rule conscious wrt to dogs.   I saw one woman brushing her dog, get told off for not having it on a lead - she was brushing it, and it wasn't roaming about - I appreciate the rules for dogs on leads but this was a bit over the top in my opinion. The site itself is kept in good order, there is a toilet and shower (50p for more than enough time to shower), the only issue is that with 1 shower and 1 toilet (shared gender) for 10 vans then this is not really enough, plenty for 5 not so for 10.  That said the pitch fees are very reasonable so I guess you have to take this into account. There are no dog walking facilities on site,  there is however some grass outside the entrance which can be used.  Turn left out the site, then immediately left again and you walk down to the canal path, where dogs can be exercised.   The path leads straight to Lincoln centre which is about 5 miles away, the path is paved and level so is easy walking/cycling.  It took us about 2 hours to walk into lincoln. We were informed by the site managers, that if you want to go to/from lincoln and there is more than 2 of you its actually cheaper to take a taxi than the bus.   We walked to lincoln and caught a taxi back and it cost about £7.   The beauty was that most taxis in lincoln seem to allow dogs.  So a 5 mile walk into the town and a taxi back is a great way to spend a day! We enjoyed our stay here, the reason I have marked it down though is because of the large number of vans, the lack of facilities to cope with that number, and the over over strict rule enforcement.

Popular site.

Enjoyed a week here, pitches decent size. Close to good walks by river Witham & 15min from Carpenters Arms (good meal). Facilities basic but clean, though could do with an extra loo as usually a queue each morning as there were up to 10 outfits on site during our stay.
