Peaceful and tranquil

Recently returned from spending a happy, restful few days at this delightful CL. The electric hook ups to one side backing on to the trees and country lane means that the site is virtually traffic noise free with the field of horses to both sides with trees and meadow behind. The site is flat and all grass with all facilities close at hand. The wildlife watching includes deer, green woodpecker and regular visits from the red kites. The two interesting NT houses close by, Nuffield Place and Basildon Park are worth a visit, not to mention Oxford and Henley on Thames of course. We will be back.

Excellent Site

We stayed at this CL for a long weekend as we were visiting our daughter who lives in Oxford. We found this site to be situated in a idyllic location, and within walking distance of the community public house which served amazing food. The owner of the site came to introduce himself and was exceedingly helpful and friendly. We will certainly be visiting this site again!

A CL worth visiting

My wife and I visited this CL in early June following a rally in the Stratford on Avon area. The approach to the site was easy if you follow the instructions and was a delightful surprise when we entered the gates. We had the site to ourselves so pitched wherever we chose but it would have made little difference as the whole field was beautifully mowed and flat and the View across the field was excellent. All the facilities are easily accessible and clean. It was quiet and peaceful and we would happily return in the future. We were visited by owner later in the day and made very welcome. The local village is pleasant and as others have said has a huge village green. We had a visit to the local community run pub and were made very welcome as soon as we entered the door. A good location ,especially for access to Oxford and a number of surrounding attractions. Plenty of local walks. Great CL

Excellent CL ....beautifully kept

This is a level site which is beautifully kept. The adjacent paddocks are in excellent order and of good size so the area feels open. We are cyclists and hope to cover the 6 miles into Oxford on a route where sections run alongside the Thames. The benefit of electric hook is welcome in today’s well spec units and the 16A stops any tripping of CB even with electric heating. I would highly recommend this CL and we will certainly visit again when meeting up with our son atUniversity.

Will visit again

Stopped at 'Seven Stars' for directions, then found site easily. We have 4 berth single axle caravan and had no trouble getting onto site. Lovely walks and bridle paths around, 'Seven Stars' few minutes walk, good food and welcoming staff. Lots of wildlife in next field, we even saw a small deer. Hawks and buzzards around early mornings and of course rabbits. Short drive to lay-by or 15 minute walk for bus to Oxford. We also took the bus to Henley on Thames and had a great day there. Booked for 3 nights but stayed for 5. Will definitely return.

Wonderfull little gem for a quiet and peaceful stay.

As CL's go this is a little Gem and the pictures don't do it justice. Access is easy with the directions from the pub........DO NOT USE YOUR SATNAV.... Although some of the access road is unmade if you take it easy it is fine. The site is set on a very gently sloping meadow with 5 very generous grass pitches, to your front you have a large field with Horses to your rear is a bridle way ideal for dog walking. Ron, the owner, is quite simply wonderful and extremely helpful. Each pitch has its own 16a supply, there is a single drinking water tap in the middle of the site convenient for all 5 pitches with the chemical waste area at the far end of the site. I have stayed at 2 other sites in the area and on this site twice, I will be back !!!!!!!!! During my stay i was visited daily by a pair of row dear and several pheasants, so plenty of local wildlife.

Lovely, quiet site.

Lovely, quiet CL, very easy access and friendly owner Ron. Situated in a great part of the country with easy access to Oxford and other local towns and villages. Good pubs, especially the local community run Seven Stars. Highly recommended CL.

Lovely CL

This is a great CL! It's on a flat, well looked after, grassed site with power. It looks out over peaceful farm land - we saw a number of red kites and a green woodpecker from the site. The village of Marsh Baldon is very pretty; easy walk to the Seven Stars pub from the site, past the exceptionally large village green. It's close to the city of Oxford - we used the Redbridge park and ride which is 5-10 mins away. A lovely place to stay

Seven Stars

Nice spacious site. The setting is lovely. It's a real hideaway and I would expect it to be very quiet for most of the year. It's perfect for dog owners as there are endless flat walks from the site. The enormous village green is fabulous. Do call at the Seven Stars for the map as suggested (lots of space to park there whilst you go in). Finding the site would be tricky without a map - a breeze with.
