A little cracker

Beautifully located for easy access to Weston or Brean. Lovely place surrounded by fields and animals. Welcoming family. Walking distance to local shop and cricket club where we spent a lovely Saturday evening enjoying very reasonably priced drinks whilst watching the home team win. Loved it and we will be returning (if they will have us)

We will return!

We have just returned home having spent 3 days of our trip at this lovely CL. There were beautiful large flower tubs in full bloom and several fruit trees but plenty of open space. It was very easy to find and convenient for the M5. The bus stop was 5 minutes walk round the corner with half hourly service to Weston-Super-Mare one way and Burnham-On-Sea the other way. We had a problem with our motorhome and Mrs Tuttiett was very helpful. There was some traffic noise from the main road but it was not intrusive and did not keep us awake at night. The toilet was basic with cold water in the handwash basin but liquid soap, paper towel and plentiful supply of toilet paper - it could perhaps have done with a sweep out but it was not bad. We would certainly use this site again.

Mid-May break

Just returned from a very pleasant 6 days on this site. We only briefly saw the owner (I presume George) on arrival and when we went to pay but we had no problems so didn't really need to see them. Can't hold the owners responsible for the lack of sunshine but the site was fairly sheltered as we weren't buffeted around excessively by the howling gales that were blowing most of the week. I agree with the previous reviewer that the grass trodden into the van was an irritation. The road noise was omnipresent but as it was too cold to have the windows open or to sit out, it didn't bother us too much! I haven't visited Weston since 2003 and I was amazed at how much it has improved in that time - very clean and the seafront buildings smart looking. Convenient site for Brean, Brent Knoll, Tyntesfield, Burnham etc.

5 day stay at East Farm

The site was easy enough to find, but don't follow the Satnav route, or you will end up coming in across the neighbouring Farmers Farm Yard. I guess being in the countryside, alongside a working Farm, you expect Cows to moo at 6am in the morning ... bit noisier than Cockerels, and is a little too close to the A370 and it's traffic to score too highly on the tranquillity section. As the previous report mentioned, the site was a bit muddy on the entrance, and like a lot of sites, when the grass is cut and is not collected, it produces large clumps of brown mess around the field, and also results in grass being trodden into your caravan. The toilet block would benefit from having a sink to wash your hands in. We didn't see the owners, other than to pay George after we arrived, and I briefly saw what I assumed was Sarah checking the toilet rolls in the toilet. The electric trips out of you try and boil water with a standard electric kettle. We have never had that problem on a CL site before, but we coped by just using the gas kettle for our tea and coffee. We have quite a long caravan (6.2m excl A-Frame), and it was a really tight squeeze accessing and exiting the site through the main gates, as there is a stream right opposite the entrance which limits your swing. The CL is set in a lovely looking apple orchard, but the downside is the number of flies and wasps that are attracted to the apples. On the plus side, it is ideally located for local sightseeing of Chedder Gorge, Wookey Hole, Street, Weston Super Mare, Brean and Burnham, and is within 5 minutes of the M5 Motorway.

A week in Somerset

Site was easy to get to, a bit muddy at the entrance, but with the English summer what can you expect. Sarah and George were great hosts, and keep their CL in good order, the grass was cut, lots of re-cycling and wast bins. Site is in an orchard, very pretty with tubs of flowers. Each pitch was spacious, and the field could have held at least 10 vans/motorhomes, so consequently lots of space to sit out and enjoy. The only down side for this site was no wash hand basin in the toilet - I would suggest they put one in - kids can get very forgeetful !! Had a lovely week here, and travelled easily to lots of places in Somerset. Will be back again next year.
