Ease of arrival/welcome

Ideal for the Causeway Attractions

We chose this CL for our 3 night stay at the end of February as it was ideally situated for cycling to the Carrick a Rede, the Giant's Causeway, the Dark Hedges, Bushmills and Dunluce Castle, all of which we cycled to on the two full days we stayed there. Jennifer welcomed us on our arrival and directed us to one of the two flatter concrete pitches. The water tap was situated close to our pitch, so filling up was extremely easy. The little toilet block was clean. We never used the shower, choosing to use our own facilities. The pitch fees are now £25 per night, and use of the washing machine is £5. I did some laundry on the final night, and Jennifer very kindly said I could hang it up on the movable washing line. The washing line is wheeled out of the barn in the morning and into the barn at night, for that reason I was told I could keep the laundry on the line when I went to bring it in later that evening. I was very grateful for this. The site itself isn't the prettiest of sites. The hard standings are basically on a cement "forecourt" in front of the bungalow. I believe there are also two grass pitches beyond the concrete area. Just to the side of our pitch a grass strip had been laid, possibly to break up the grey. With the weather conditions the hard standing itself was perfect, especially as it rained constantly over the three nights of our stay. Fortunately we were blessed with lovely weather during the days. The views from the site were just lovely, and we were lucky to see a beautiful rainbow and lovely red skies in the evenings before the rain set in. Jennifer's granddaughters keep chickens, so we bought half a dozen eggs on the morning of our departure. Also on the morning of our departure we noticed one of the motorhome tyres looked flat. Jennifer and her husband came to our assistance when it came to trying to blow it up, but in the end we had to go to a garage in Bushmills. Payment wise, we paid in cash, but we could have paid by bank transfer. We would definitely stay here again if we were ever to visit Northern Ireland in the future, especially as we were given such a lovely and friendly welcome.
