Terrific Site

Having picked up a new caravan we decided to spend a week in the local area. We chose this site for its location and facilities. What a choice. this is a terrific site. Wonderful views. Fully serviced. Good sized pitches all with hardstanding. Excellent toilet block cleaned daily by Mrs Edwards (the owner) who visited us at the same time, a very friendly helpful lady. A good pub within a very short walk with excellent reasonably priced food and good beer. We could not fault this site and strongly recommend it.

Near National Botanic Gardens

Brilliant site, fully serviced pitches. Just over the hill from National Botanic Gardens where the entry charge allows you to return for 7 days so this CL is ideal ideal staying a few days and making repeat visits. Good shower &  toilet cabin, 300 yds to village with pub. Very quiet becasue main A40 runs on the opposite side of the valley, but the B road (B4300) passing the farm is an excellent road anyway, so you need have no concerns when towing to this site.

Looked a pleasant site - shame about the smell!!

We were booked in at this site early this week, but when we arrived there was an awful smell about the place. Manure (I think from chickens, judging by the smell) was being sprayed over the field adjacent to the caravan site. The tractor driver said that the smell would disperse if it rained (but as it happened, the weather became warmer and drier) but we decided not to chance it, and moved on. We drove back through the same area a few days later, and the smell was still in the air.

Wonderful Site

Just back from a really lovely stay here. Easy to find, in a lovely peaceful location with all sorts of bird life around. Nice big pitch areas and all have there own drinking water taps. Toilet and shower facilities very good. Has its own private access to the river and we spent a pleasant afternoon fishing and watching the local wildlife. Will definitely be visiting again

Only one regret

This is really a lovely site pleasantly situated near to the river with great views and, on the whole, peaceful and tranquil. There is water to each pitch with electric, as usual the hookups are along one side of the field so space is a bit limited but just enough. The showers/toilet portacabin is very clean and a great bonus to the site. We did have one problem, the owners were away when we arrived and didn't come back for two days. The farm dog was locked in a small shed and barked for hours on end, the noise echoing along the valley. The dog was not let out when the owners returned and, on and off, continued to serenade us both day and night. Eventually I approached Mr. Edwards and asked if anything could be done about the dog. Unfortunately he told me there had not been any other complaints (there was no one else on site) and if I didn't like it I could leave. Not quite the reaction I was hoping for. Anyway, apart from the dog, our stay was great. (Won't go back though)

Beautiful, Riverside CL in the heart of Shir Gar.

We stayed here in August 2012. Well laid out site with hardstandings. Facilities look a bit daunting (they're in a portokabin), but they work just fine; lovely shower cleaned every day. Very welcoming owner and generally friendly ambience - don't know why we haven't been back yet! Terrific views down the Tywi valley to dramatic Dryslwyn castle. Nice walk to the castle along the old railway - bring your machete! Acces to the riverbank - don't know about fishing rights, etc. Local village - Llanarthne - is five mins walk up the lane. Good pub with food. Will definitely be back. Diolch yn fawr!
