May 2015

This site is indee beautifully kept and what could be better than being provided with a nice pot of tea by the owner whilst you are setting up- nice touch. We were on the level raised pitch st the bottom of the site but still got a decent wifi signal. The drainage system tended to overflow at times and a long hose was needed to connect to both the pitch water tap and the drainage point. One minor issue was getting in and out of the site access gate with our long unit especially when neighbours of the site park directly opposite the entrance on what is a relatively narrow lane.

Great base for Cumbria Coastal Way

We stayed here for 11 nights at the end of July 2015 as a base for walking the Cumbria Coastal Way.  We walked from Sellafield to Carlisle during our stay using this brilliant CL site.  The facilities are perfect with individual water and waste points - bring longer hoses to make better use of this.  The welcome was about the best on a CL site and we have been using CL's since 1980!  We were sited next to the Glamping Pod and would be brilliant for friends without a caravan.  The wifi worked perfectly.  Would definitely recommend.

Superb facilities very friendly owners

Very welcoming CL, Ideal for touring the Western Lakes, 1st class facilities including free wifi. One interesting addition is a new camping POD which is available for hire if you require extra accomodation.

We will return

Beautifully maintained site with serviced pitches, a couple of which are level. Plenty of provision provided on site for levelling on the others. Nice views across the valley towards the coast. A very warm welcome from Mark, Gill and Graham who go the extra mile to make your stay perfect including ensuring good wifi reception. Thank you all, we'll be back.

Brilliant Location

We've just returned from a nine-night stay at Greenacre. Our pitch, although sloping, was excellent and there were plenty of blocks available to level the van. Site is beautifully maintained,  with daffodils all around. Being close to Cockermouth,  shopping was easy. This is a fantastic place to explore the North Western Lakes.

Very impressed

My wife & I found this CL site in the club handbook, we booked up for two weeks in June 2013. I would just like to say, what a fantastic site, yes, there are some sloping areas, but the owners supply more than enough levelling blocks for all to use. Very quiet site. easy access to lakes and other places of interest in Cumbria. Very very reasonably priced for a serviced pitch. The journey up from Southampton was well worth it! we will be back here

Geenacre CL near Cockermouth is a lovely site. For once the picture shows a site exactly how it is. We visited this site last month. It is spacious and has pleasant views over surrounding countryside. The owners of this CL should be commended for getting things just about right. There are grey water drains and plenty of private taps yet they keep the price reasonable. Despite being almost local ourselves there was so much to see in the area. Places like Maryport and Cockermouth were quite a surprise to us and Silloth further north is aways worth a trip back in time to the Edwardian era and to parade along the sea front. There is a car boot sale a few minutes away at the mart each Sunday morning. So lots to see and do in the area and very close to the Lake District. For criticism, be advised that the shower costs 50p and will cut out after a period of time. So take a spare coin, but bear in mind that the site is very reasonable priced anyway. A further point to remedy would be to level the pitches and perhaps more hard standing as we were told that the site gets waterlogged in wet weather. Wifi is reasonably priced and better nearer the bungalow.

Excellent

Another amazing CL. Excellent facilities, spotlessly clean and well organised. There is water and drainage at pitches a good hot shower and WC. The owners are helpful and easy going. The site is well located for the northern and western Lake District and also allows access to the coast when you want a change. The only thing I would change would be the lack of hard standing - which in a summer like this one can be quite an issue!
