2 night stay at Orchard Lodge

First time at this CL and very likely to return. Julie and Peter were both very welcoming and provided all the necessary site information and also details of local walks, sites etc. The pitches were well spaced and level. Overall the site is very quiet and peaceful with only a very occasional sound from the farm machinery site next door during the day. Easy to walk into Bibury and the less popular but possibly more pretty Ablington. Bibury does not have any real stores for provisions unless you fancy paying £6.00 for a soda bread loaf from the “Twig” coffee shop! The nearest pub as you walk into Bibury, The Catherine Wheel, serves very good food and drinks that are not over-priced. On this occasion we didn’t take our bikes but this was a pity as we missed out on some excellent quiet lanes which we will have to explore on our next visit. Overall this is well worth a visit to this Cotswold site.

Lovely CL in the Cotswolds

Extremely warm welcome from Peter and Julie to this very well run CL. Well spaced hard standings with easy access to EHU and water and good high speed internet access. We tried both the suggested local walks which we thoroughly enjoyed. No views from our pitch which didn’t really matter as we were using our silver screens but other pitches did have views. This is a site which we will definitely be revisiting.

Peaceful & Perfectly Located

Orchard Lodge is a small (5 pitch), beautifully presented CL adjacent to the owners fine Cotswold property. The welcome is warm and informative. We were greeted by Peter & Julie with tips for eating, drinking, visiting and walking plus copy OS maps ready to use. Arlington, Ablington and Bibury are all on a manageable and accessible 3-6 mile circular walk. The Catherine Wheel in Arlington was our preferred watering hole. The bus to Cirencester is a mere 10 minute walk down the road and within 15 minutes we found ourselves in the beautiful Capital of the Cotswolds. Well worth a day out. All in all, a lovely weekend at a fabulous CL - highly recommended

Great Site and Owners

Our second visit to this lovely peaceful site, Julie and Peter gave us a warm welcome on arrival. Pitches are well spaced out with Views, Each Pitch has Electric hook-up and Water. After spending the week here we have booked to return again later this year. Our Thanks to Julie and Peter for making our stay so pleasant.

Bibury mini break

We stayed at Orchard Meadow for one night for a little motorhome mini break. Really impressed with the ease of booking and paying online. Julie was friendly and informative and there was plenty of space in our allocated pitch. We were very lucky with the weather so walked into Bibury to visit the trout farm (great fun!) and have a pint in the Catherine Wheel beer garden which was lovely. There was some noise from the adjacent road during the day, but not enough to spoil our stay. A very well organised site and a pleasant way to spend a weekend.

Excellent stay - very relaxing

A very pretty location. Well spaced out pitches. Stayed for 2 nights very relaxing, would definitely stay again. Peter popped over once we arrived to say hello and supplied information. If it's peace and quiet you are looking for, a pub within walking distance and Cirencester a short bus ride away then this site is for you.

Very Peaceful

I agree with all other reviews my only observation was that especially on our pitch the TV reception left a lot to be desired

Yes, so PEACEFUL!

We only stayed a night on our way south but I can see why people would stay much longer. The CL truly is wonderfully quiet, sheltered and peaceful whilst being close to so many interesting places. We followed the walking maps, so thoughtfully provided with the site information by Julie on our arrival, which took us a different way into the unmissable Bibury. Getting up early the next morning and seeing the village just waking up before the visitors arrived was very special. The site is beautifully cared for and the hard standings make it work well in all weather - which for us was as perfect as our visit! Thank you!
