Winter break in the Wolds!

My wife and I have just returned from this our first visit to Greetham Retreat CL. We received comprehensive arrival instructions per email, which ensured a peaceful arrival and no drama! We phoned ahead as instructed and the owner Rob told us which pitches were available to us. After pitching up which Rob kindly lent a hand with, we got settled in. Just after our tea, Rob came over and sat with us to tell us all that his and Jeanette 's CL site had to offer as well as the surrounding area. The attention to detail and thought that has gone into this site shows that Rob and Jeanette are seasoned Caravanner's, the site is absolutely immaculate. The shower come toilet block was cosily warm throughout our stay and as clean as our own bathroom at home and its free to members as well. WIFI and TV signals are all good, which is a bonus in the Wolds. The sun rises and sun sets where amazing as were the views over the Wolds from pitch 1. We saw a few Murmurations of Starlings as well. Rob kindly showed us around his holiday Cottages, which we will be sure to use at some point. Great stay, great owners, we will be back.

Fabulous site

Stayed for a week for the first time after having this lovely CL on our list to visit for quite a while. Rob & Jeanette are extremely welcoming, friendly and clearly passionate about their business. A bonus is that if you have family/friends who don't have a caravan/motorhome but want to holiday together, they have 5 holiday cottages on site too. Pitches are level and well laid out. Toilet & shower are immaculate and we particularly liked the red light, visible from all pitches, to indicate if they were available or not. Lovely grounds to wander around with picnic benches, outdoor chess & bbq area. Comprehensive information room plus the most informative website highlighting things to do/places to go/eat etc that I've ever come across. Plenty of dog walking on bridleways just outside site. A real credit to the owners. I have uploaded a short video to Youtube of the site and its facilities.

Lovely two night stay.

We spent two nights at this lovely CL. Booking and directions were fab with very easy arrival. Rob and Jeanette are very friendly and welcoming and answer any questions or queries you may have. The site itself is well laid out with a good walk/dog walk around the trees and lake. Toilet and shower facilities are available but we use our own so didn't visit them. Lots of local information in the information room, good walks to be had with your dog and a couple of pubs within walking distance too. TV reception was good as was the 4G signal. May well be back for another visit as we enjoyed it so much.

Third time here and have loved it just as much as the first. The site is well organised. Easy pitching on flat level hard standings. Additional solid paving laid after our last visit to put water and waste master if usung allows good access to them. We will miss the local owls twit twooing us to sleep. Thanks to Rob and Jeanette for another wonderful stay.

What a wonderful site

We have just spent 3 weeks at Greetham retreat and are going back later in April. It is without doubt a wonderful place to stay. The owners are attentive yet unobtrusive and ensure a warm welcome and undisturbed stay. The facilities are of a very high standard and were impressively modern and well maintained. Dog walking is a pleasure and Max is missing his early morning walks already!!!! The view form your van will impress every morning even if its freezing and raining. Plenty of really good places to eat near by and Rob will point you in the right direction. The pitches are good well maintained hard standing and well drained so even in the heaviest rain the ground remains easy to function on. well spaced and large enough for our 8m rig and large awning. The "available" light on the shower/toilet room is an inspiration. When the facilities are engaged a red light is visible from your pitch so you don't have disappointing trip to the heads when its already in use!! small thing but very useful and adds to the feeling of privacy. Would recommend without reservation.

We wanted to stay longer

This is a wonderful ClL. Site owner, Rob, had a board out with a welcome message, our pitch number and a message that he would br down to see us after we were pitched. Great welcome from him which included all the information about the site and some details about interesting places in the vicinity. The heated toilet and shower room has a novel way of showing if it is in use - a red light shows at all times when the automatic extractor fan is on, and this can be seen from your pitch which saves wasted journeys to find it is in use - brilliant innovation, well done. This toilet / shower room is kept immaculately clean by the very attentive owners. Normal facilities on site but all pitches are hard-standing, invaluable when it snowed whilst we were there, and the EHU was rated at 16Amp. This is a quiet, peaceful and relaxing site ideal for re-charging your batteries and there is ample interesting venues not too far away. RAF airfields, WWll Bomber Command museums and some very interesting villages and towns are fairly close and there are a number of nature reserves not too far away as well. I can wholeheartedly recommend this CL.

Our First Lincolnshire Visit

Have just returned from a 12 night stay at Greetham Retreat CL. The booking and payment process was simple, directions to the site were comprehensive and access to the site, via a wide gateway, was no problem. Power, water and waste facilities were all first class and together with the very high standards of this site made our stay most enjoyable. We had no problem with the shower facilities which were again of a very high standard. An A-board advises of your pitch number as you enter the site. Rob's very comprehensive welcome chat with us proved very useful as it meant we were able to get the best out of the site and the surrounding area. It was a pleasant change to meet with a site operator who seems to care about his customers and wants to ensure they enjoy their stay whilst on his CL. A peaceful site in beautiful countryside with very little traffic noise.

Nicely situated but we wont go again. visited September 2017

The site is well situated and set out very nice, the facilities would benefit from male and female toilets and bathroom, we found it very strange that they had one unisex facility. We arrived and got set up, it was then that Rob came over to see us and welcome us. Unfortunately this is where things take a turn for the worse, Rob invites himself into your caravan and then over stays his welcome, for us this we found to very rude and imposing on our privacy. We must admit we was close to actually saying to Rob is it not time you left us alone. This approach from Rob and the lack of male/female toilets means that we will not be going there again. Yes I know we all have bathroom facilities in our caravan but that is not the point, any place that caters for public to go should supply what the public really want. The road at the front of the site seems to be, at times a free for, all with vehicles going hell for leather, there is no footpath on the road sides so you have a short but perilous walk to the public footpath entrances, once there they are really great for pet dogs and walkers alike. All in all we enjoyed our visit to Lincolnshire, we just had a few niggles with the site and Rob.

Tranquillity

Just arrived back from our first stay , only 2 nights which definitely wasn't long enough, thanks Rob & Jeanette for letting us stay on later today instead of rushing home, much appreciated as the weather was brilliant. Colin enjoyed feeding the fish in your lovely pond we and our dogs were happy walking around the beautiful paths , couldn't have wished for anything better.

What a find

Not having been before, we didn't quite know what to expect. WOW!! without question this has to be the best place we have ever stayed at, thus far. And that includes CC sites. What it says on the tin and then some. Rob and Jeanette could not have been more accommodating and talking with them was as if we'd known them for years. The view of the surrounding Wolds was breathtaking. It goes without saying we will be returning. I hope that people continue to support them, has nobody deserves to succeed more than these lovely people. Thank you, Tony and Pattie
