The happy farm!

Well, i'm going to save myself some time on this review, because all the previous comments are spot on. I cannot fault Hallsdown in any way. I just loved the antics of Jethro, Jessie, & Gerald winding each other up! Fantastic, that's all i can say. (you are a good cattle herder Andrew!!!!) Thanks for the farm tour, really enjoyed it. We will return as soon as poss. All the very best to you Andrew & Claire Ken & Lin

Great Location for this Part of Devon

A great CL. We stayed for 15 nights in July. the CL is easy to find with easy access, especially compared to a lot of sites we saw as we travelled around, there are a lot of narrow lanes leading to many commercial sites. Andrew is friendly, helpful and keeps the site in great condition despite being a busy farmer. The pitches are neat, spacious and fully serviced and depending on the pitch there is something of interest out of the window. For us it was the donkey and ponies playing chase. The site is centrally located for Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Lynton and Lynmouth and Combe Martin. It is only a short distance to Arlington court and a short drive to Hunters Inn for the Heddon valley and a walk to the stunning bay at Heddons Mouth. The coast around Morthoe was especially worth a visit, Lee bay is great to explore at low tide.

What a gem!

We stayed at this lovely CL for 12 nights at the end of May and 1st week in June and could have stayed longer. The site is well placed to visit nearby coastal towns and a beautiful area for walking. It was so peaceful and quiet ( apart from the birds) which tweeted all day long. The owners were also so helpful and friendly . The pitches were really well set out with individual taps and drain points, so made holiday even easier with no water to fetch and carry. We will certainly go back to this site again, only hope it is not too long before we do.

Top notch

Absolute gem of a CL, great welcome, peace and quiet and fully serviced pitch. Just as previous posters have said thanks Andrew. We have booked again as well which is something we very rarely do.

So good we've booked again

Arrived in pouring rain, sign to welcome us and informing us of our pitch.  Within an hour skies cleared and sun shone for a whole week.  We visited Watersmeet House, Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock, Woolacombe, walked miles, attended local Point to Point and then ran out of time.  Booked again for next year, still lots to see and do.  Lovely spacious pitches, the one we were allocated was fully serviced, loved it. Farm shop mile down road, great staff.  Thanks Andrew, your site is a credit to you, see you next year.  Graham & Barbara (Starkey)

Lovely area and peaceful site

A really nice site on the edge of Exmoor. We especially like the hardstanding pitches, the proximity of footpaths (including a nice walk around the nearby reservoir which has a paved path suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs), it's closeness to Arlington Court National Trust property, and the nice little farm shop a few minutes walk away.  The site is well laid out and has a useful toilet if needed

Excellent

This is an excellent CL with generous marked out pitches, all with their own water and waste facilities.   Owner is very welcoming and ensures the site is extremely well kept.  Even has a very clean toilet and information facility.   Not many CL's will better this site and we will definitely return. Many thanks Andrew for an enjoyable CL experience.

5 Star all the way

We have stayed at many excellent CL's throughout the UK and this rates as one of the best. The fully serviced pitches are huge with a choice of both grass and hard standing.  The farm 'pets' of goats, alpacas and Doris the pig are popular with all guests and will make short work of any leftover food you may have. Although we were only there for 6 days we could have stayed much longer and found plenty to do. We will be back next year without a doubt. Thanks Andrew for such a stunning and superbly kept site.

What a find

We have just spent 17 days  at this calm and tranquil site.  Andrew maintains this CL to the highest standards and is hands on in making you feel as comfortable as possible.  We explored the whole area around North Devon but the weather was so good we were back every afternoon to sit and enjoy.. heaven.  The fully serviced pitches made life so easy. Thank you we will be back.

Delightful

We have just spent a week at Hallsdown Farm in perfect weather.  This is one of the best CL's we have stayed on.  Andrew was warm and welcoming.  The pitches are an excellent size, each with tap and grey water disposal.  Peace and quiet in wonderful countryside - what more could you want?
