A peaceful site with spectacular views!

We spent four nights on this beautiful site on the southern edge of the North York Moors. The views are truly spectacular - you must be able to see for 30 miles. The site is well maintained with grass that is better than our lawn at home! Ailsa sent a comprehensive email before we came and visited the van to greet us after we had settled onto our pitch. We had booked the only hard standing on the site for our motorhome, but other motorhomes were parked on the short grass and had no trouble moving despite quite a bit of rain. The site's website gives a link to several walks up onto the moors and in the surrounding countryside. We did the shortest of these and were rewarded with further amazing views from the triangulation station on top of the ridge above the farm. The site is only a couple of miles from the lovely market town of Helmsley with its Birds of Prey Centre at Duncombe Park, as well as an abbey and a castle, both English Heritage. Sadly the latter two were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but we did visit the birds of prey and watch an impressive display.
