Great location - peaceful, walks straight from the site, dog friendly

We stayed here last autumn for one night on the way home from Scotland and were determined to return as soon as possible. We’ve just spent 3 nights at High Farm (23rd - 25th May) and had a great time, even in the rain! The site was full for two of the nights but the five units were all well spaced out. We’d booked the hard standing (there are two, one is next to the water tap, we had the one by the fence) in advance as we are in a campervan and after all the rain of the last two months we were worried about getting stuck. So we rocked up and went walking. There’s a lovely easy walk into Helmsley (8 / 9 miles return) which goes via the Duncombe Estate, a bonus being the beautiful vast glades of bluebells. We also did a circular walk from the farm out to the Rollgate escarpment - far ranging views. The site is dog friendly and our two loved lounging on the grass. The views are vast and stunning, with plenty of birdsong and farmyard animals. Definitely a 10/10 site.
