Great break at Hilltop Farm

We have recently returned from a six night break at Hilltop Farm. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves because the site is very well located, within easy walking distance of two pubs, a chippy and a shop/garage. The site itself is spacious and well maintained but most importantly the owners (Tricia and Brian) are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have a wealth of knowledge about the area and are quite happy to impart this knowledge if you are interested. Brilliant hosts. Thanks Ron and Sal

Disappointing pitch layout

Three of the grass pitches were located on the lowest side of the site adjacent to a drain ditch. The site owner insisted that we should park parallel to the ditch such that all three caravans were parked nose to tail- as in a traffic queue. Not a good view to see the back of a caravan from front lounge window. In addition, the owner's attitude was aggressive and unfriendly and he never spoke to us for the duration of our visit. After 48 years of caravanning we left early and will never return.

Fantastic place

This is the first time we have stayed on a CL, and it has set the benchmark very high for any future CL's we visit. What a lovely place. Easy access, welcoming owner, spacious pitches with beautiful views and peace and quiet. There are walks to be had in every direction, a great shop/garage just down the road, and 2 pubs in the village. There is a very large field within a couple of minutes walk for exercising the dog, and the abandoned church about 30 minutes walk through the quiet lanes, is really interesting. The owners are very helpful, and check in each day with you to make sure everything is ok. They also provide really helpful info on the local area when you arrive. We were on a grass pitch in our motorhome, and it was absolutely fine. Tricia, the owner, advised us to pitch side on, which not only makes the best of the sunshine, but also makes it pretty level.....we put one wheel on a ramp, but that was personal preference and I am sure we would have managed without. I would not hesitate to recommend the site, and will definitely visit again. An absolute credit to the owners.

Perfect C L

This is the third time that we have been to this site and I cannot fault it! Access to the site is very easy. The owners are so welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble for them. The views are wonderful. I left a review a few years ago and I thought it was the perfect site then too!

Fantastic

Just returned from a fantastic few days at Hilltop Farm. Everything perfect from an immaculately kept site, peace and quiet and lovely welcoming owners, Tricia and Brian. Nice walk to the beach where we saw the seals and on one occasion 2 muntjac deer. Looking forward to planning our return.

Peace and quiet

Beautifully kept site in a great location. It offers only basic facilities, but that is exactly what makes it so great. The nice views and quiet surroundings more than make up for the lack of a shower / toilet block. It almost feels like wild-camping, but with the benefit of a secure site - plus, with EHU, water, bins and chemical waste point - what else is needed? Easy booking process (my email enquiry answered almost immediately) and a nice friendly welcome on arrival.

Delighted with this find

Had a lovely 4 night stay. Owners were friendly and helpful. 5 mins walk to a huge playing field to exercise dogs then 5 mins further to two pubs, convenience store and chip shop. Such a peaceful site with a bird hideaway to sit and watch the wildlife. We will definitely come here again

Really lovely peaceful site

We spent three nights at this really nice CL which is very quiet and beautifully kept. There's lots of wildlife to see from the site including deer, foxes and owls and marsh birds. Mrs and Mr Parker is extremely friendly and organised. There is a shop, pub and fish and chips a short walk away and its a short drive to the sea. One of our favourite CL sites.

Fabulous CL Site

Just returned from 6 days at this lovely CL. Perfect for quiet trips away with nature. Immaculately kept site, lovely and genuine owners (Tricia and Brian). Really good if you have dogs, quiet and long walks either to the coast or inland. Garage with a shop with all the essentials 5 mins walk away, two local pubs similar distance - we only tried The New Inn which was great as a standard pub with typical pub food (they do take away as well I noticed). Fish and chip ship around 10 mins walk which was good. We will be going back...
