Nothing wrong here!

What a pleasant surprise! Co ordinates took me directly to Hoe Farm. Approach road was fine. Lovely location -train does run rear by though. Chickens and horses nearby. Absolutely beautiful. Clean toilets and showers. Pitches are adequate but with some pitches it would not be possible to put up an awning. Lovely convenient site in superb location

Not up to scratch for £20 a night

The access road was ok, though there was no signage except for a sign saying Hoe house. Pitches are on hard standing but are very close together. If you tried to put an awning up you would be joining the next door pitch. Price was £20 a night despite it saying on the app and the main caravan club website that it was £15. Facilities were ok but as it had been raining you had to walk through a bit of mud to use them. Main railway line London to Guildford very close. Good points - close to station and bus stops to Guildford and Woking

Not as bad as others have made out

We arrived here on Friday afternoon in the aftermath of Hurricane Gertrude. Site very soggy but each pitch was a hardstanding so apart from the fact I wouldn't really advise an awning for any of the pitches (quite small) we had a very pleasant stay. We didn't try the site facilities as we always use our own facilities; I never expect facilities on CLs so it is quite a bonus for there to be some supplied. The road to the farm appears to have been re-laid as it certainly was not as bad as others have experienced. The owner, Mr Patel was very pleasant when we arrived and we were invited to pitch wherever we liked. He also directed to each facility. Great site for visiting friends in Woking and I will stay again ( hopefully in better weather).

Such a disappointment.

We love visiting CL's but this is not a CL we will visit again. (Stayed late Oct 2015).

We gave the other poor reviews the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately they prove to be true.

Hoe Farm is situated in a clearing in old woodland.  The long drive from the main road to the farm is very hard to negotiate due to the number of pot holes along it.   We arrived at the farm to be greeted by an elderly lady who spoke no English.  She handed us a piece of paper with our pitch number but no other information.  The pitch numbers were written on small tree trunk stumps.  Ours was difficult to find because it had been placed upside down in the mud.  Our pitch was small.  We wanted to put our porch awning up and the only way we could do this was to place the caravan nose first on the pitch. Not ideal and our view from the window was a railway line. When our neighbours arrived and erected their awning there was barely 5 foot between the awnings.  We are sure this was a fire hazard.

The toilets and showers are fairly new but they were dirty. Toilet roll was NOT provided and showers cost extra despite the £20 a night charge. A hand towels was left in each toilet cubicle but these were not something you wanted to touch. We had been on the site 6 nights before the toilets were cleaned and their open bins emptied. In the toilets and shower, mops and buckets were provided and a sign asking you to leave the floor clean, however, no cleaning fliud was left in the buckets.   Drinking water was not easy to find as it was behind a tree stump.  The elsan and grey water points were not clearly marked and its main sign was broken and left lying in a shed near the toilets. Information on the site was lacking.

Hoe Farm is a working farm but so are many other CL's. It was a very untidy, uncared for site which is desperate for some TLC.  Next to one pitch under some extremely tall conifers was a collapsed fence, with long 4 inch nails sticking out.  Very dangerous!

The site is very handy for the train with a station at the end of the drive. Unfortunately, this means the railway is approx 100 yard from the site and trains do start very early and run until late.

We endured our stay but would not visit this site again.  It is unfortunate but in this area there are so few sites to choose from so Hoe Farm doesn't have any competition. We hope the caravan club make an inspection to this site soon and help and encourage the owners to make the improvements needed.

Dissapointed!

The first problem we encountered was the state of the entrance drive to the CL with holes so deep, my car's proximity system, thought I was driving into a wall. The toilets had no loo paper(despite me mentioning it to the owner ,who I had to find!) or hand drying facilities and the newer ones had no water in the basins.Signage was poor and pitches small. We were not greeted or welcomed by the owners and whilst this sometimes the case in other CLs we have been to, at £20 a night,(more then some club sites) we thought it very poor value. we will not be returning!

Comment from The Caravan Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review. The CL owner has been in touch as he wanted to address your concerns. The entrance drive you mention is actually the council’s responsibility to maintain. The CL owner has contacted the council about this and is awaiting for this to be fixed. He will continue to chase the council until this is addressed. Please note however, if people take the lane slow and steady, there should be no difficulties accessing the site. The CL owner asks people to provide their own toilet paper as they have had issues in the past with the toilet paper supply being removed. One basin during refurbishment had the tap isolated for a maximum of 2 days as there was a leak. There were other basins available to use during this time. Now that the showers and facilities have been refurbished the new signs have been installed. Guests have commented on how nice the new facilities are and the CL owner is really pleased that people are enjoying them. Pitches on the site allow plenty of room for all size outfits, with even 5th wheel outfits having stayed on site. As per many CL sites, the CL owner may not always be available, however if needed there is a number to call and also there are always people around happy to assist.

Lovely Site

This is the perfect site if you want to be near towns and cities, yet feel that you are in the country in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet and peaceful, except for the occasional train, and I loved the sound of owls hooting at night. The facilities are good, lovely hot shower for 20 pence. Sanjay and his wife were very helpful and welcoming. I thoughly enjoyed my stay at Hoe Farm.

A simple and lovely CL

My wife and I are seasoned caravanners and love CL sites. We have been members of the Caravan club for many years and use their website and guidebooks to assist our exploration. We find the large sites akin to holiday camps, and although we understand why couples - especially families - enjoy the impressive amenities (NB: we've never understood double air-lock barriers), CL's are different. They are meant to be rustic, and this site is just that. The times we've been, we have found the couple warm, engaging and helpful. My wife and I love working farms which Hoe House/Farm is - it's why we love such CL's.  We named the chickens (who came into our awning each morning and delivered eggs in time for breakfast); we got to know Pearly and Bryn (the horses) as well as the charming lady Felicity who looks after them. We talked to others who work on the farm and how they look after the trees, wildlife etc.  The farm is situated in a forest which reminds Sharon and I of Scotland, probably because of the Scot's ferns - Rannoch Moor particularly, albeit without the three sisters.  Attractions: we visited Hampton Court and Chessington World of Adventures (Sharon doesn't like zoos but i found it the best part with the tigers and lions): 30 mins away. We also visited Portsmouth and even went sailing on the Solent from Hamble (one hour away). Central London is an hour away by car on the A3 or 30 mins on the train which is a few hundred yards from the site, and from there, anywhere in London.  We have found wonderful CL's with no amenities and few attractions, but loved them for the peace and quiet and also CL's which are strategically located. This site has both. If you like CL's, you'll love this site.

Dirty toilet!!!

We had read the earlier reviews prior to our visit and were unsure what to expect.  I can only echo what the other reviews say about the shed and facilities. Our main criticism was the disgusting state of the toilet / shower facilities.  We use CL's regularly but only those with WC/shower facilities - had I known they would be filthy and therefore unusable, I would not have booked the site.  They were not cleaned once during our stay - if they offer these facilities surely they should be clean?  Hasten to add we will not be staying there again.

Disappointing C L

Allocated pitch was facing derelict open fronted shed, alongside tall conifers and not large enough for awning.  (We were offered an alternative pitch on edge of site). Shower and toilet dingy cold with no toilet paper and not cleaned the entire 9 day stay. The adjacent toilet disposal point had probably not been cleaned for months. At £20 a night we expected a superior C L. We have to ask if the Caravan Club ever inspect a C L site. When we left we had to pay a child as owner was unavailable so we were unable to express our disappointment.

Needs some TLC

At £20 per night is quite expensive. Shower and toilet facilities need cleaning and no instructions on how to use coin operated shower. Close to railway station but frequent trains can disturb light sleeper. Overall needs improvement.
