Lovely CL but could be better

We recently spent four days at this CL and found it to be fine. The food in the pub is lovely home cooking and big portions if you like Liver with Onions then you wont beat it,I'm biased because I love it. As other people have said the toilets/showers let it down only because they need a little bit of TLC and attention to detail. (Regular emptying of paper towels etc from bins) The showers are good at £1 for six minutes found this was plenty of time. Would like to see better signage for the CL facilities people were asking us where things were. Theres no doubt this is a family affair we saw Connor cutting the grass and other family members busy in the pub. The adjacent road can get busy at times but its generally only during daylight hours. This is a lovely CL but with a little bit of TLC could be a great CL.

Brilliant CL site

We stayed for 3 nights. The site is well kept and easy access to Filey Bridlington and Flamborough head. Site owners are super friendly, and the Honey pot Inn pub is so lovely. The food is amazing!! We recommend the beef Sunday lunch 👍🏻 And the curries are better than any curry house one I’ve had. We ran out of coffee in our van and the lovely landlady provided us with some too. I guess the little touches do make a difference.😊 I think the other reviews on the site toilets and shower is unfair. Obviously there isn’t a lady spraying channel perfume on entry but it’s clean enough wth soap provided and paper towels. You have to pay £1 for the shower, you get 6 mins which was fine. The shower had good pressure too. We would definitely stay here again.

Facilities toilet & showers

Perfect location, beautiful views from site. Toilets & showers very disappointing. Desperately need updating or cleaning thoroughly. Dirty floors & bins not emptied for days. We chose the site because of facilities advertised. Not worth £1

A potentially brilliant Pub CL

Even though there had been a great deal of rain before we arrived the field was fine. Along with other reviewers we would highly recommend people eat in the pub, BUT make sure you book a table as they are very busy, which must be a recommendation in itself. As others have said the pub staff could not be more hard working and helpful. Connor is an excellent host, very friendly and approachable BUT we think he must try to do a little more to keep the site looking good. We were next to the water tap and waste bins which were only emptied once in our eight days there. Perhaps we should have said something while we were there but didn't want to appear as moaners. We think it would help if they were emptied at least every third day????? Also Connor needs to spend at least ten minutes every day or 15 minutes every other day checking the toilet and shower block. There was a couple of days when there was no toilet paper, and the rubbish basket was overflowing. Connor you have a wonderful Site, a great pub and wonderful views. Spend a little time to keep it as good as possible

GREAT SITE AND LOVELY WELCOME.

Arrived on Fri 04/08/17 to a lovely little site with very easy access. Wife went to see Connor and paid and he directed us to the pitch, which was the only one remaining, next to the bins and the Water tap. If we hadve had the choice we would've gone to the bottom end out of the way with the dogs, as we breed Weimars and they go everywhere with us. They are very lively and extremely protective of there surroundings but not a threat to anyone, as they are show dogs. Apparently this didn't fit very well with some whinging gits, who found it necessary to ring the pub and complain about them barking. Might I suggest to these whinging wimps, DONT BOOK A SITE THAT ALLOWS DOGS, BECAUSE THEY DO BARK WHEN PEOPLE GO INTO THERE SPACE. Back to the review now Rant is over. The views at the site are lovely looking over the Country side from a raised spot. The grass was cut and kept tidy whilst we were there and Young Connor is trying very hard to make a go of this little business venture, and hes doing very well. The staff in the pub are very friendly as is Connors Mum, who is a lovely Character and very down to earth typical Yorkie. The food was lovely and it was very busy in there most of the time and even had to book a table to be certain of getting in. On the Sunday Evening two very large families came in just as they were about to finish serving food and they were only too happy to accommodate them, about 27 people. The showers and toilets are ideal as is the location of the waste and toilet waste points, which were pointed out on arrival. I am sure we will be going back to this lovely little site, but we will request the pitch at the far end out of the way of any whinging ten bob millionaires, in there new vans that are chuckied upto there necks in. Thanks Connor for making us welcome, and as for the moaning ones, ignore them.

Home for a quit nights sleep

Just spent three night at the honey pot in,  The site was clean and well maintained, the food in the pub was outstanding.  But we will not be returning as the noise from the Very near mane road B1229 was horrendous.

Relaxing

Here for the third year running and as always a nice friendly greeting. The privacy trees that Conner planted are growing nicely while the lights on the fencing are a nice touch. The views are beautiful as ever especially first thing in the morning. Whilst pretty central for going out and about, scarborough filey etc. we stay and relax on site. The food in the pub is good, decent portions and well priced, served by cheerful friendly polite staff. Thanks Conner and we'll see you next year. Jenny and George.

Great holiday

Just returned from a week long stay at The Honeypot. Fantastic base for exploring the local area and great area for walking the dogs. We had a couple of meals at the pub, food fine with big portions. Toilet and shower block, although adequate, could do with a clean. Bins on the site were emptied once, when they were overflowing. Didn't see Connor at all while we were there. It would have been nice to have someone explain where the toilets were and where to empty grey waste etc, plus explain the local area eg. where we can take the dogs for first morning walk. But we managed to find everything ourselves, so not too much of a problem. The staff we did meet in the pub were great. Overall, a lovely holiday in a great location and fantastic weather!!

Short weekday stay

Arrived with hubby and dog, set up with awning onto a lovely level site, we were impressed with good access and easily found and tidy site. The field was big enough for me to manoeuvre our large twin axle caravan, which didn't at all interfere with any other of the caravans already parked up. We found that being adjacent to a busy road, albeit behind a hedge, you were constantly aware of the traffic noise, but it did lessen after 'business' hours. The open views of the countryside were lovely. We went for a meal on the first night, the pub itself was extremely busy, and on advice booked a table. £15.00 per night whilst on the top side, we were happy to pay that as there were no extra charges for the awning and dog. There were shower and toilet facilities in the pub, for use by the cl site. Would we return, yes we would, the location and lovely welcome, with friendly and accommodating staff made for an enjoyable stay.

Great views and staff

just had four days 2nd to 6th August what a great site, lovely views, great food and drink and well priced you are not charged for awning, dogs, or children. great location for site seeing, lovely clean toilet and showers. The owners should be very proud of their son, a lovely polite and helpful lad we will be going back lots of places to visit.
