Lovely little CL

We chose this site for its close proximity to Ludlow (just over one mile to stroll to the market square). The very welcoming and friendly lady owner showed us where to park up in the orchard and left us to pick our hardstanding pitch. There is plenty of space in between the pitches. We made use of the EHU and the fresh water. There are recycling bins for various waste, an Elsan point, and 'grey water' can be disposed of into the hedge line. It was lovely to sit in the orchard (we had hot sun) and watch the birds and insect life. The picturesque large patches of 'wild meadow' in between the fruit trees gave much privacy from one side of the site to the other, and to watch the gentle movement of the long grass was relaxing. The lovely site has lost one 'star' because of the very minor train noise at night-time, the very minor noise from the road nearby, and the noise of the neighbours mowing their lawn (it has got to be done!). None of it was too disturbing, and I guess had the breeze been in the other direction the noises would not have reached us. There are two cattle grids to negotiate on the approach drive, and some wonderfully curious cattle watched our every move whenever we left or arrived at the site. NB anyone with limited mobility: For us, the grids were an obstacle in that one of us uses a mobility scooter ... fortunately one of us is strong enough to half lift, and half attempt to drive the small scooter over the gaps. Be warned, if using a mobility scooter to visit Ludlow from the site, there is no dropped kerb on the approach to the bridge over the river Teme - meaning it had to be again, lifted - this time, into the road ... and you have to take your life in your hands as you battle with the traffic. Also, the narrow footpath into Ludlow was very overgrown with greenery from the hedges, and the road traffic very fast! This was a very pleasant site, lovely location, with friendly, non-intrusive owners, welcoming cows, and we will return.
