Just the perfect CL

This large tranquil site is just the most perfect way to enjoy the wonderful town of Ludlow. The helpful owner will take you to the best pitch for your unit and make sure all is well. Then you may relax amongst the orchard, enjoying the peace and quiet. Bliss.

One of the best sites we have stayed on!!!!

Hucks Barn is a lovely site, this the second time we have stayed there, it is set in an orchard, pitches are spaced out so you can hardly se your neighbour, paths are kept mowed but areas for wild flowers and insect are let to grow. Ideal for dogs, footpaths direct from the top of the site. Easy walk into Ludlow, we hope to be back before too long, ignore the comments re the site owners we were made welcome, just wait to shown your pitch.

Enjoyed the overall experience.

Interesting reviews by people; and after talking to owner when booking on phone I was apprehensive of our meeting when we arrived. She is just direct and has her own way in communication. (The old addage don't judge a book by it cover).I found this not a problem and was shown to our allocated spot. Loads of room separated each L' and water point. Take levelling blocks the site is a on a slope. In amongst trees and hedge rows the site is very quiet. It has easy access to lots of foot paths. The old drove which takes you to the road half way to Ludlow. Side walk along the road for the rest of a 25 minute walk in total. Ideally suited for Ludlow. There was quite a few horse flies so take a repellent but proved not a problem overall. We enjoyed our stay overall on this spacious ideally sited site. With a friendly wave as we left it was easy access to the main carriageways and off.

Fantastic site, less than optimal interpersonal skills

We stayed at this site in 2022. I was livid at my experience on the first day. Being called a idiot for not stopping at the exact spot where the lady said when we first arrived to being spoken to in a condescending manner by a gentleman who presumably was sent by the matriarch to "help" us park up but kept standing in the way when I was manoeuvring making it impossible. I was all set to leave the site without even asking for a refund but my wife wouldn't! On the upside, we didn't see our bellicose hosts again for the next four days until we left. That said it is a really excellent site. Others may well have different experiences and if you want to go to Ludlow, definitely consider it. However, I am unlikely to be going again and definitely not if its an extra fiver a day for electric. I barely use any.

Small quiet Site

I can't deny it, having read the reviews and having spoken to the owner before making the booking, I was a little apprehensive to meet her! However, she proved to be quite jolly, although a little direct and quite firm in her instructions! The site is lovely and quiet with good views and easy access into Ludlow town, following the track at the back of the campsite. It was nice to have a water hose next to the electricity point. Now the downside..... we were rather taken aback when we arrived to be asked for a further £5.00 per night due to "the cost of the electric!" Whilst I appreciate that this should be taken into consideration, I do not feel that this site warrants this amount of payment. We were happy to pay £24 per night, and understood at the time of booking that we would have to use our own facilities. However, to pay £29 per night for what we had, I feel was a little overpriced. There are no shower or toilet facilities, washing up or laundry area, or an information hut. Having paid the full amount at the time of booking, we felt we had no alternative without spoiling our break, to pay the extra, £5 per night, although I feel we should have been notified of this before travelling to the site.

Ignore bad reviews, the place and lady are lovely

We needed to stay near Ludlow for a night and we saw Huck's Barn Farm and were compelled to stay there by the mixed reviews where it would appear the owner is Marmite. We are happy to say we are lovers of Marmite and will definitely stay there again when we have more time for a few days. The access is really easy and upon arriving we were greeted by the owner who proceeded to walk us up the field and gave us good advice to drive our motorhome up the gravel road, turn and travel downhill to our fairly level hardstanding pitch to avoid getting stuck as it was the end of October. This is probably why she likes to meet people at the entrance. In summer there would be no problem as the slightly sloping site is fairly well drained. The fee could be cheaper but we only stayed one night this time and it is cheaper to stay longer. It is also worth remembering there is easily enough room for double or treble the number of caravan/motorhomes if it were allowed. The site is set in an orchard and is very pretty with nice views. The pathway from her site is really useful and walking briskly the edge of Ludlow is only 15 minutes

Wonderful peaceful CL on the edge of Ludlow

Had a one night stay at this lovely site. A warm welcome from the owner who gave us an over view of the site and facilities. It really is in a little orchard with plenty of space between pitches. If you follow the footpath and not the driveway it’s a 20 minute walk into Ludlow with all its shops and bars etc. Our only disappointment was we were not staying longer. We love this area and would definitely use this site again. Please note: I couldn’t find this site on the CL.booking website - even using the site name.

Excellent CL pity about the owner

We stayed for 4 nights on this beautiful site.I will list all the positive points first. The CL is the nicest site we have ever stayed on and we have been caravanning for many years. The access roads to the site are good, main A road and a wide B road so no narrow lanes to negotiate. The site is huge set in a beautiful orchard and is very quiet. There is a footpath directly from the site where you can walk in to Ludlow (20 minutes)or in to the lovely forest. The site is well maintained with good recycling and well cut grass Unfortunately now the negative. The owner is perhaps the rudest woman I have ever met. When we booked well in advance we were told we had to pay in full in advance. We have never not turned up on a site and on the occasions we have had to cancel there have been very good reasons (illness or storms which would make towing unsafe) We were told the money would be non refundable if we cancelled. We were told when we arrived to stop when we got to the second cattle grid which we did do.When the owner came out of the house she shouted at us like we were a couple of children for stopping on the grid!Put decent signs up then to explain My husband then drove to the site with the owner following. He was then told to get out of the car as “I don’t like talking to men through car windows”! We couldn’t choose our pitch we were told where to park. She then directed us to the turning to our pitch but it wasn’t clear where to go.We were spoken to rudely yet again “I suppose I will have to show you “ Fortunately we didn’t see her again.Lovely first class site but due to the owners attitude we won’t visit again. Our money is just as good elsewhere

Ideal stop for us

Beautiful surroundings, tranquil, well laid out, loads and loads of space to enjoy around the pitch and not too close to our neighbours, very reasonable price and very friendly welcome pointing out where everything was, where to pitch, had originally been told we could have a hardstanding as we had a motorhome but as the weather was so good and the ground so dry, the owner suggested we might like a grass pitch with more space around it for our dog to enjoy -which she did. Didn't need the levelling ramps on the grass but think we would have on the hardstanding Easy walk into the wonderful town of Ludlow 20 - 25 mins, part the old stage coach route (grass footpath) part B road with pavements. Is definitely on our list to visit again
