Good CL, Welcoming, Clean, Quiet, in Good Location

Spent six nights at Huntisbeare 21st - 27th August 2017 First day was wrecked by our 12v system going down tho' full mains was ok. Mark and Linda were both very helpful and after a new battery we were fine. The site is mostly gravel, level and each hard standing has electricity and own water supply, toilets are clean and very well maintained and the fresh eggs, fruit and Linda's pickle cum chutney were delicious. The site is set back from the farm area, quiet and an easy drive to local shops as well as Exeter and Sidmouth. All in all an ideal location if you want good facilities, a warm welcome and peace and quiet. We will come again. Our thanks to Linda and Mark.

Very welcoming site

Have just returned home after spending 3 nights at this lovely CL. Totally disagree with the very negative comments left by a previous reviewer. We have a motorhome and required no levelling blocks. All facilities were extremely clean and well looked after. Thank you Mark for being such a wonderful host. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent site

Great location. The pitches are level within reason, don't understand the previous comments stating 10" and 4". We adjusted the side to side level by approx1" and front to back was levelled as per normal with the jockey wheel! We received a very warm welcome from Mark and Linda, great CL hosts. The vegetables and home made chutney on sale were delicious. We will return to this CL next time we are in Devon. Keep up the good work.

Disappointing

I don't usually leave reviews but as the previous reviewers have stated that the pitches are level, I felt compelled to inform other club members considering booking this site, they are ALL certainly NOT level, both length and width ways. Beware also of the nasty hump on the entrance track and of the blind corner when exiting from the site on to the main road (B3180). There is a lot of gravel with weeds everywhere on the site. It looks like a half finished project / building site and there are no tubs of flowers as shown in their photo or any other flowers. Consequently it looks depressing and unloved. Two of the pitches had a view of the owners small holding. The ladies toilet was basic but ok. Mens toilet was far more basic; a sloping hardcore floor with a door which had huge gaps around it. In conclusion, we found this site to be disappointing and felt that £15 a night is over priced for this site. Length of stay seven nights.

Not 'green' enough for us!

To be fair to this site, we stayed here in February so the trees etc were not in leaf but for us there was just too much grey gravel and not enough green grass etc! Perfectly pleasant site and owner very friendly and hospitable and good links to where we wanted to walk etc. Perfectly adequate set up and facilities but just not the beautiful green country 'field' we tend to like and go for! Sorry! Just personal choice for us but may suit others.

Welcoming and spacious

Huntisbeare is a great little CL. Each pitch is spacious, the site is level and Mark and Linda are welcoming and helpful. We received a friendly text letting us know we could set up whenever we arrived and they'd catch up with us later. They were also very flexible about us staying an extra night and leaving late - but it is the quiet season! The facilities are limited but clean. One men's and one ladies toilet, dishwashing and chemical disposal. No showers. They're in the process of installing water for each pitch, which will make it an even more appealing site. We have family nearby, and love East Devon so will definitely be back!

Top quality site designed with care.

Extremely easy to book with prompt responses and flexibility due our changing circumstances. A warm and friendly welcome sharing useful local knowledge. Secluded location with super clean facilities. We cycled to a lovely local pub 2miles away in Tipton St John for tasty food and real ale; be prepared for an uphill ride back! Top quality site. Recommended.
