Just what a CL should be

This remote CL is nestled deep in the Malhamdale farming countryside. David and Wendy are kind hosts, and being included in some of the farm activities including viewing his sheepdogs at work, and his pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle was a privilege. The site is not trim and perfect, but isn’t that a pleasure after some of the overly fussy regulations on some sites? Waste disposal is basic, but who cares when there’s a barn owl watching you. Eggs are available. It is a ‘dark’ site so watching the night sky is a joy. You need to take care on the narrow approach roads - they are all nearly single track with passing places in the Dales area, but it is doable with care. Possibly be wary of the road from Airton to Settle because of gradients. Also stone pillars on entrance to CL field - wing mirrors in, although a Carthago with higher mirrors visited and was fine. A lovely site.
