We chose this site for its proximity to the Lakes Distillery, having been given one of their gift tokens as a birthday present. The CL was easy to find. The owners were welcoming, and showed us the available pitches, and location of water/waste points. All 5 piches were occupied but well spaced so not feeling crowded. As the site is sloping, all pitches benefit from lovely open view down the valley. The Sun Inn is a short walk away in the village of Bassenthwaite, and The Castle Inn Hotel only a few hundred meters up the road. Bus stops opposite the Castle Inn have regular services to Cockermouth/Workington, & Penrith (service X4). We walked to the Lakes Distllery (well worth a visit) or the bus route X4 running every other hour stops there. We will visit again.
