Beautiful Peaceful site ..But..

We arrived at Kimberley such a lovely site for views etc ..eventually pitched up at the bottom of the pitch.. Kathy eventually greeted us and although we had only booked a week was able to accommodate us for 2 weeks. She is very friendly and approachable. Very peaceful and quiet . Great for dogs ours loved playing on the very large spacious field .. great dog walking close by around the farm and at Dawlish Country Park . We loved finding the different carvings on the posts and benches around it. Ideal for visiting Dawlish Warren.. Teignmouth Torquay etc... My BUT..... leveling our twin wheeler was a nightmare in all our years of caravanning 30+ we have never had such a problem we had to go buy extra levellers and the front corner steady on our 1 year old caravan buckled which my husband had to replace. Everything seemed to be on a tilt .with the weather being so glorious we spent most of our time outside eating etc..and even getting our table level was a nightmare to prevent cups etc sliding off which happened a few times... Would I visit again . NO. just down to the logistics of tryung to get level ....such a pity really because the site itself is so peaceful... perhaps if a bit od money was spent getting It more level would help but I understand that Kathy can't afford to do this

Comment from the Club

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Kimberley CL Site and were able to extend your holiday for another week to get the most enjoyment out of the site and surrounding area. The CL owner has been in touch as she would like to address your concerns as she works really hard to ensure everyone has a wonderful time, greeting them as soon as she is able with information about the site and leaflets of things to do in the area. Please be assured the site is well cared for with many improvements made to the site this year. This is a quiet and peaceful location set in beautiful countryside. With regards to your comments about levelling, there are slopes on the site as it is set in a countryside field but the CL owners have not had any complaints before and are always happy to assist with levelling if required. They do have guests return time and time again for the beautiful location, countryside peace and quiet and the excellent value for money.

Lovely peaceful CL

Quiet site, clean and tidy. Lovely view of nearby farmland, two gorgeous foals when we were there. Be sure you follow site directions not sat nav, sat nav take some you down narrow lanes where it is impossible to pass. Very scary. Leaflets left for use and owner very welcoming and friendly. Bus stop bottom of road within easy walking distance. Buses to Dawlish, Starcross, Teignmouth etc very handy I found you are in a motorhome.

A very relaxing stay.

We had just the one night at Kimberly, but would certainly return if we are in the area. Kathy, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming and gave us a choice of pitches, which were all well spaced out and well tended. You will need leveling blocks unless you're not too fussy about a level van, but that's a minor point on an otherwise lovely open plan site. Basic facilities only, but so peaceful, and just a short distance to the surrounding towns and beaches.

Enjoyable stay

Just returned from a lovely stay at this site. As stated you will need levelers and do make sure you don't use a sat nav but the instructions given as there are some very narrow lanes around there! Television reception not very good so an aerial lead is provided on each pitch...nice touch! Kathy was very friendly and helpful, worked very hard keeping it all tidy with the help of her son who was a dad hand on the ride on mower. There is a bus stop just down the road and lots to see and do around the area. If you have dogs there is a circular walk just along the lane from the site and also the Dawlish country park just off the main road. Lots of dog friendly pubs and tea rooms in the area, can recommend The Ley Inn in Kenn, The Anchor in Cockwood, Daisy's Tea rooms in Dawlish...very yummy cream tea ! Enjoy your stay..we did.

Useful Site

We have just returned from a pleasant weeks stay at this site. The site is basic in the old C.L. style but has a lot going for it. According to the weather some difficulty may be experienced leaving as the slope is quite steep, but our mover came to our rescue, however the owner did offer to hitch up her four wheel drive should we have needed it. Turn left out of the site within a couple hundred yards there is a purpose maintained walk around farm land all mowed out and well sign posted, which took us hour half to complete. Lovely for walking the dogs and seeing the butterflies. Turning right and across the main road there is another large park, free car parking and is lovely for dog walkers. Buses seemed to be running everywhere and the stop was not far away. We really enjoyed visiting Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth and Torquay, plus we drove to Powderham Castle shop where you can again park free and walk along the estuary and finally reach the canal. If you want peace and quiet try this site.

Lovely welcome. Hidden away but easy to find within short walk to bus stops and great walks for the dog. Will definitely return!

Peaceful

A warm welcome is what you get at this site. Information is given to you on arrival. A great place for motorhome owners as bus stop is a five minute walk down the lane. Buses are every 30 minutes going to Exeter or Newton Abbott. We liked this site that much we have booked to go back in 3 weeks.

A well kept secret

An exciting adventure in Dawlish was the plan for Easter weekend. Kimberley turned out to be the perfect location.Follow the instructions and it is a very easy site to find indeed and access is as easy as it gets. The setting is just perfect, with very little visible to spoil the view! The site is well looked after. Each pitch having thoughtful touches to help make the stay easier. This even included a coiled TV aerial lead, if watching TV was your desire. Electric hook ups all look new and worked without fault. Short grass, ample bins and taps all made life easy. The site does have a slope but is flat at the top and bottom. The pitches at the top of the field were great, being both flat and sunny. I helped a caravaner get his rig from the bottom of the field - a light touch on the gas and a gentle Z to climb the slope was all that was needed. Kathy, the site owner, was a very attentive host and made us feel very welcome indeed. 100% recommendation from me!

Excellent

I have been to this cl many many times over the last few years. I can honestly say if your looking for somewhere thats peaceful and quite then look no further. You will need levelling ramps I've only got normal size ramps and have always managed to get the van level no matter which pitch I'm on. You'll get a warm welcome from kathy the owner and she's always willing to help if she can. The Elson is better than a lot I've had the pleasure of using (let's face it they all pong a bit) the site is always clean and tidy. Don't use a sat nav going in use directions in book from the main road it is narrow with passing places but its only about 200 yards from main road I've never had a problem. There's a bus stop at the end of the lane and its not far from the beach or Dawlish . There also some lovely walks for all you dog owners. All in all it a very good cl and I'd recommend it to everyone. I call it a little peace of paradise.
