First Class

Just spent 8 nights at this wonderful site, congratulations to Colin & Sandra for the brilliant work they have & continue to do to this superb CL. Everything that has been said in previous reviews about this CL are spot on and it's not a surprise they have been CL of the year. So do yourself a favour and pay them a visit as we will certainly be back when next in the area.

Landis Farm

We stayed at this site on our recent holiday which saw us using CL sites for the first time. Sandra and Colin were out and about regularly on the site and happy to chat or suggest walks/places to visit. We had a lovely pitch with good views over the surrounding countryside. The facilities were excellent; there is a large toilet for the Landis Farm CL and a clean and spacious shower block which is shared with the Criffel View site (on a different part of the farm). There are walks from the farm and we went to New Abbey, where there is a good cafe, and also down to the River Nith. Lack of time meant that we didn't explore the area as much as we would have liked, but Dumfries Museum was interesting, and Castle Douglas is a bustling wee town with lots of interesting shops, as well as Thrieve House and gardens nearby. We also visited Wigtown which has numerous bookshops and cafes. If back in this area, we would definitely stay at Landis Farm again.

Peaceful site, lovely views

Well-kept site as described elsewhere in more detail. The picnic bench next to the pitch was a nice touch. Up a hill, so there are great views over the village and the abbey to Criffel. Several large caravans were on site, despite the narrow rough access road.

Just can’t fault this CL

By far this is the best CL we have stayed at. The farm setting was beautiful, very well maintained with much attention to detail. The toilet and showers very clean and spacious. Excellent wi-fi. Our hosts were helpful and very pleasant. This site is a must.

A lovely CL site

Very friendly welcome from CL site owners Colin and Sandra and a helpful sheet of information provided of local places, shops/eating out/vets /GP etc. also Wi Fi on site which is included in price, better value than the main club sites. The site is lovely and well cared for on a working farm in amongst beautiful scenery and near to Sweetheart Abbey (15 min walk), pitches are good size, all hardstanding with great toilet and new shower facilities. Vintage tractor collection for those who enjoy these things. Entrance to the CL site is through single width lanes off the main road so you don't want to be too early and meet a unit coming the other way, apart from this access is good. We enjoyed our 3 night stay, nice quiet site, friendly owners and very interesting area with lovely walks. We would definitely return to this site again when visiting Scotland on holiday.

What's not to love!!

VERY easy to find although the track to the site is...'interesting' ;) A very warm welcome from site owner Sandra and we could instantly see that this site was well cared for. We had pitch 5 which was at the bottom of the site facing the beautiful views. The weather was extremely hot (30 degrees) so the bit of shade offered was much appreciated. Loved having our own picnic bench and easy access to water and elsan. We're currently on a Club site and can honestly say that the facilities are not a patch on the fabulous ones offered at Landis Farm CL that are fresh and always spotlessly clean. Sandra and Colin are perfect hosts and always had time to chat, offering advice or help where needed. We spent 11 nts here and really didn't want to leave!! There's nothing not to love about this site - well done to Colin & Sandra for a wonderful CL.!

Super site

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at Landis Farm. The site is very well laid out with large level pitches. The site has all the usual facilities CDP and Grey Waste disposal with the added luxury of showers and toilets which are immaculate. The views are amazing and the site is really peaceful with goats to entertain you and birds feeding on the feeders. This really is a great CL being on a working farm. The location is ideal for visiting Dumfries and the Solway Firth. We will definitely to coming back.

Fantastic find

We are fairly new to cl sites. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and made to feel very welcome by Sandra. The site is so manicured and well kept and the shower rooms are spotlessly clean, roomy and warm. Would definately recommend this site. Views are gorgeous. Hope to be back in the next few weeks.
