PLEASE READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS ABOUT AWNINGS AND THE USE OF GROUNDSHEETS!!
We had booked this site for 3 weeks and arrived looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday.
We have a caravan and awning with an annex at each end. These have built in groundsheets and are used to sleep in.
We were asked to take up the built in groundsheets daily to protect the grass, which would entail removing both ends of our awning exposing it to the weather.
We felt very uncomfortable to do this, as there was no compromise, so decided to leave the next day.
We explained our reasons for leaving to Jane and Gary and they didn’t seem to sympathise with our decision, they were just very business like and wanted full payment for the 3 weeks as stated in the terms and conditions.
I could understand if we had stayed longer but only 1 night costing £506 is extremely expensive.
It tells you about using breathable groundsheets and pup tents in the terms and conditions but
I would suggest that they state about awning annex with built in groundsheets not being suitable for this site as if we had known would not have booked in the first place.
We have used CL sites for many years and this is the first time we have have had any problems.
We feel very let down and sad this has happened.
