******Warning******* This site has so much to offer (Location, pitches and proximity to pub), however, these benefits are completely negated by the presence of a large aggressive dog. The site consists of 5 hard standing block paved-pitches, serviced with both water and electricity. It’s located on a hill inside the grounds of a farm. Two sides of the perimeter have drystone walls, the entry and other side have five bar fencing. To gain access to the pitches you need to go through the yard in front of the house. Everything fine so far… During our second evening on the site, the owners had gone out , but their dog was loose in the yard. This dog is medium to large dog which when approached was aggressive towards anyone who went to the gate. All 5 pitches were busy that weekend and each camper had their own dogs with them, including our own. Because the dog was loose no one could walk through the yard with their own dog without taking the risk of been confronted by the owners dog. One of the campers phoned the owner who told them “under no circumstance should anyone go into the yard, especially with a dog”. One dog owner was returning to the site from walking his dog and had cross an adjacent field and climb over the end stone wall to get back to his motorhome.Another had to get into their car with their own dog to avoid walking across the yard. About half an hour after the phone call, a lady arrived by car and secured the errant dog inside the house. This is clearly unacceptable and potentially dangerous to anyone who had met this dog whilst it was loose. There were a family with a young child staying in one of the static caravans, which was open to the yard where the dog was roaming. This incident compromised the safety of campers and their pets. Looking at previous reviews, this has happened before to others during their stay.

This was a situation we did not expect! However our dogs are friendly to people and dogs. We apologised to everyone on the campsite and everyone seemed happy.our biggest dog managed to break there chain and we resolved the situation as soon as possible. I am aware that with todays society a lose dog is a problem. And scary but i can asure u there was never any danger. Hopefully u can understand the situation. X
