Restful weekend

We arrived for the weekend to be greeted by Alan who was friendly and welcoming, he gave us lots of useful information about local walks, places to eat and visit. The site is peaceful and although there is a fairly busy road nearby it did not disturb us at all. It was very quiet at night. We took a circular walk along the Heart of England Way and the Monarch’s Way that can be accessed from the site it amounted to just under 8 miles. The walk took in beautiful scenery and passed by Hidcote Manor so we called in for a cup of coffee and a slice of delicious cake. It is possible to use the cafe in the small garden centre without having to pay the entrance fee to visit the Manor House. The facilities on site are good with easy access to drinking water. There is plenty of room to exercise a dog should you have one and the chickens are amusing to watch. There is a safe and easy walk into Lower Quinton where you will find a shop and a fish and chip shop/Chinese take away. We would definitely make a return visit. Thank you Alan and Angela.

Hidcote 100!

Great CL. Good welcome and info, loads of space, nice views, great for bikes (try the offroad ride into Stratford). National Trust sites abound (dont miss Hidcot). Great farm shop/deli is a short walk across a field from the back of the site.

VERY WELCOMING and GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION out in the countryside!!

Visited this site for 6 nights at Easter 2018. It was a VERY wet Easter and much of the surrounding area as we approached the site was waterlogged. The site has a very limited amount of hard standing and some of that has ups and downs which create pools / lakes! We went on Pitch 4 which was grass but seemed to have a solid base. The pitch coped very well under the challenge of the deluge although there was always plenty of mud around! The site itself is very quiet, Plenty of space between the pitches and good views of the surrounding fields and hills.Site is very well kept, quite level but has several bumps. Facilities are excellent.Access is very easy. There is a new Londis shop and a sport centre about half a mile away. Site owner is very happy to advise re the many excellent walking routes from the site. Linear walks can be done with outward or return travel by local bus. There is an old tramway line which now provides a 7.5 miles traffic free cycle / walk track into Stratford upon Avon. There is a cafe approx half way too! Good car park on outskirts of Stratford (near Waitrose) was £2 for the day. You can walk into the town on a very good tarmac path or be more adventurous and take the riverside walk. The owner is very welcoming and offers support and advice. A great location for visiting this area of the Cotswolds. Charlecote Park (NT) well worth a visit. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Great site

It's a really good site, flat and with a couple of hard standings if you have a motorhome and it's very wet. TV/radio reception good as was 3G on Three network. Excellent recycling facilities and the owner is very helpful with lots of local information. We have given it full marks but we may not have done if the rally field at the top of the site was full. As it was, there were 3/4 vans remaining from the BH Weekend Rally and they didn't disturb us at all. It's worth noting that if you really want to get away from it all the rally field does have EHU's and CDP which is the area shown at the very top of the photo....way past the polytunnel. Not sure if the owner allows this.

Great site for North Cotswolds

Very well kept grass, very pleasant owner and ideally placed for Stratford upon Avon and North Cotswolds. There was a rally further up the field but was of no consequence. A little road noise but, again, of no consequence. All in all a great get away.

Lovely Site

We have just got back after a 4 night stay at Meon View, it is one of the nicest sites we have stayed at. The site has good access and is very well maintained and the pitches are not to close together. The owners were very nice and extremely helpful especially with their local knowledge of the area. There was very little noise from the road, certainly nothing to put us off staying there again. Thoroughly recommend.

Well located for Hidcote Gardens

We stayed for 1 night as we wanted to visit Hidcote Gardens. The site was lovely and the owner helped us pitch so that we could be sure of not getting our motor home stuck on wet grass. We found the CL to be nice and quiet and well kept. The price was slightly on the high side but the CL was well placed for our visit to Hidcote Gardens.

Lovely site

We had a 10 night stay here at then end of August/beginning of September. There is plenty of room for caravans on this CL, ample EHU's and plenty of fresh water taps. Alan and Angela keep the site well, and Angela always finds time for a chat when she goes through the site to pick some fresh veg or collect some freshly laid eggs, the latter of which are available to buy. We have a dog and although there is plenty of room to exercise dogs on the site, there is a gate at the rear which leads onto some open fields. You can walk your dog there but keep it on the lead if livestock (sheep or cattle) are loose in that field. The same walk takes you to a nearby farm shop, and further walks onto the Heart o England way (there is a slight incline in the field to reach this). The towns of Stratford-upon-Avon (about 10 minutes drive) and Evesham (about 15 minutes drive) are both nearby for shopping. You will find plenty to do and see in Stratford. Access into the site is good (we have a long twin axle), the ground is well drained and is kept well mown without dead grass being left across the site. There are recycling bins which you are encouraged to use, and a good Elsan point. There is some slight road noise from the nearby B4632, but not enough to stop us going again. We did not get good mobile signals on the site (we have O2 and Vodafone). I thoroughly recommend this site and applaud the owners for looking after it so well. We will definitely return - soon.
