Enjoyed our five night stay at this CL.
Easy access off the A75, but if arriving from the east, continue on the A75 to the roundabout at Castle Douglas junction and double back to the CL entrance off the large layby. Much safer!
Friendly, helpful owners. Good situation overlooking pleasant farmland and wildlife pond. Parents of young children be aware, the water is not fenced, contrary to the description in the CC handbook.
Easy access to the many interesting spots
in this part of Galloway. Castle Douglas is a pleasant town, with a wide variety of independent shops, in addition to Tesco. Only criticism of the CL is the lack of rinsing facility at the chemical WC emptying point. The toilet/ shower is a bit basic, but the owners have plans to upgrade. Hardstanding pitches are generous in size. A good CL, and we will certainly use again.
