Surprising but in a good way.

This site is managed very well, clean and good facilities. The owner provides you with a leaflet detailing the site facilities, local places of interest, places to eat and other relevant information. There is another field for caravans and motorhomes that we were offered to use if we wanted to be further away from the road, but to be honest the road was only noisy at rush hour and there is a field between it and the CL site so it was not a problem. There are hardstandings as well as grass pitches to choose from. The rally field is quite a way from the CL and it was self contained so did not affect us. We cycled to Stratford on the pavement and then down cycle path on the old tramway. It took us less than twenty minutes. About ten minutes away (by bike) is a Morrisons? you can park here at cost and walk in to Stratford. The walk across the fields to The New Inn was a pleasant amble and the meal was lovely (directions in the leaflet). We visited several National Trust properties in the area as well as Stratford itself. I have to say that Stratford was a little disappointing and very touristy not the quaint old place I was expecting. Also DO NOT GO INTO STRATFORD TO REFUEL!!!!! We went to Tesco's during the day and the traffic was horrendous as it was when we drove through to get to the site. There are cakes, honey and jam for sale and I can certainly vouch for the tastiness of them. All in all a good site, so much so that even before we left the site a caravan was pitching up in our still warm pitch!!!!
