GREAT VIEWS FRIENDLY OWNERS DOVEDALE GOOD FACILITIES

New House Farm is a working farm with very friendly owners Sheila and Kevin, and is one of the nicest CLs we have been on, in 35 years of caravanning. We have just stayed there 17 night and did not run out of thing to do. You are extremely likely to have cows frolicking on the other side of the hedge. The views are beautiful and you can see for miles and miles. There can be great sunsets too. Very close to the beautiful Dovedale and other White Peak walk and yet Ashbourne is only 4 miles down the road, with its facilities including a big Sainsburies and Aldi. The owners invested heavily in the CL last year and there are 6 hardstandings, 5 full at a time. Each has its own sets of two water taps, one to connect to your own aquaroll permanently and also a dedicated grey water drain. The grass is immaculate being cut on a near daily basis. The loo and showers are cleaned daily and the bins are emptied daily too. TV reception is very good from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. The shower is very warm and again had new plumbing last year. Highly recommended !

Wonderful CL with great views

This is one of the best CL sites we have stayed on. It is in a superb, elevated location with great views. There are many beautiful walks straight from the site. The pitches are hard standing which is ideal when spending a wet Easter weekend. The taps and waste water grid on each pitch make life much easier and the lovely toilet and shower room are an added bonus. We shall definitely return for a longer stay, hopefully bringing better weather!

Peaceful site with electric, water and waste to each pitch.

Peaceful site with electric, water and waste to each pitch. The facilities were great on each pitch. The site was very quiet with easy access to local beauty spots. The toilets and shower were in need of some TLC, but at least they are provided for use.

Nice CL

Very happy with this campsite. The owner was friendly, the shower was hot (leave £1 in the honesty box after using), short drive into Ashbourne, decent pub a 10 minute walk away and a lovely view of the surrounding area.

Quiet, Clean & Spacious

Easy access off A52 onto a lovely quiet site with large hardstanding pitches. The site was very well maintained, Toilet & shower area were very clean & Covid Safe. Mrs White was very welcoming & friendly along with another lady they gave us alot of local information & seeing how hard they work on a daily basis to make our stay a trouble free enjoyable experience we will stay there again when visiting that area. Though this is a working farm it wont spoil the peace & tranquility of your stay.

Peaceful, spacious CL with outstanding views

Stayed on this beautiful site over the June bank holiday, booked for a week and ended up staying 10 days because it was so peaceful with beautiful views! Ideal for access to so many fabulous walks and tourist spots such as, Ashbourne, Ilam House & Country Park, Dovedale, Tissingham Trail to name a few. Do look on the OS maps for all the excellent walks in the area. The site is slightly sloping, we had to chock up one wheel but not a problem. The grass is beautifully maintained and all cuttings lifted, there are large hardstanding pitches for car and caravan or motorhome with the option to go nose in, which we did, to make the most of the sun and beautiful views. Facilities are located in a small building at the top of the site and are clean and well looked after, with a toilet and separate shower. There is a small shopping complex within easy reach of the site (A52, bottom of the hill, turn right at the roundabout) with an Aldi and M&S food hall, saves going into Ashbourne! The site owners, Mr & Mrs White, operate a stay safe policy but are very helpful if you have any queries..

Lovely start to the season

This was our first trip of the year and we thoroughly enjoyed the site. The shower was closed due to covid restrictions, but I had a peek and it looked clean and spacious. The loo was open and spotlessly clean. Mr and Mrs White seem very laid back indeed. There are lots of walks (including good walks for dogs) straight from the site. There is a pub about a 10 minute walk away that does food (not that we sampled it- it was rather too chilly to sit outside and eat). There are fantastic views from all pitches.
