Treemendous

Scheduled to arrive on the Friday afternoon, we received a phone call from Pam on the Thursday evening to explain where everything was as we were the only guests this weekend and Pam and her husband might not be there to welcome us personally. As it was we arrived before they left and Piotr introduced us to their wonderful site and gave us some useful information about the surrounding area. Oaklea is a beautiful site. The landscaping with all the various trees is stunning and even in late Autumn there was plenty of colour. We pitched on the hardstanding area just close enough to reach the first service bollard. As we were alone I left our water hose permanently connected so I didn't have to bother with the Aquaroll (we have a 45L onboard water tank).  This was our first stay at any CL so the bar has been set very high for any other CL's we visit in the future. Oaklea is definitely a CL we will use again and we would recommend it very highly to anyone who enjoys tranquility and surrounding beauty.

Wonderful

I have to endorse everything everyone has said about this wonderful site. I haven't stayed on another one that can beat it for space and size of the garden and wood to roam. I have to say though that there were five caravans on the grass and two motorhomes on the car parking space and personally I didn't like leaving our car on the car park. Our caravan was the furthest from the car park and in October the dew night and morning, even though the grass was as short as possible, soaked my shoes walking back to the van. If I were staying here at this time of year I would take wellingtons.

Oaklea update

I have uploaded another video of this site to YouTube which is 720 resolution instead of 320 which makes it not so washed out. Just click on the cog wheel for settings and choose 720. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A3aKSMEY7c&feature=em-upload_owner

The best yet.

What can I add to what's already been said? This has to be the best CL that we've visited so far and I doubt if it will be beaten. The owners are two lovely people and you will find nothing is any trouble to make your stay enjoyable. There are 16 acres of open pasture and woodland with hundreds of varieties of trees and shrubs, their own personal arboretum. Our two mini Schnauzers loved it and all I ask is please dog owners pick up your dogs mess and show respect to others property because this site would be a loss to the network if for some reason the owners found it wasn't worth the trouble because of irresponsible behaviour. The pathways through the trees is kept mown and short and it took us approx. 30 minutes to walk around the site. Unless you bump into any off your neighbours while walking around you are unlikely to strike up a conversation because the caravans are pitched some distance from each other. You can park anyway you want or in the sun or shade. If the 16 acres aren't enough then just across the road from the entrance is 300 acres of forestry land with walks and rides whilst Woodhall Spa is a few minutes away. There is a Budgens and a Co-op in Woodhall but the nearest supermarket if 5 miles at Horncastle. There is no toilet or shower onsite but this doesn't detract from it at all, infact I think it improves it. The toilet emptying point can be a bit far from some of the caravans but this isn't a problem, just put it in your car and drive to it. There is a little noise at times from RAF planes but this is to be expected in this area but we found it no problem. No doubt I will think of something else after I've hit submit but I don't want to get timed out. While there I made a video and posted it to YouTube with the owners blessing. To sum up I can't understand why I'm raving and telling all about this site because we might not be able to get a pitch next time we want to go.........

Beautiful gardens and woods

Wonderful gardens and dog walks. Parking for motorhomes is restricted to the hard-standing area, although we could position the doorway onto grass. Flowers and trees magnificent. A pleasure to visit there.

A little gem

Fantastic site, beautifully set out, owners very friendly, peace and quiet at it's best. This site will definitely make you lazy, you will not want to leave. Fantastic walks on site or even across the road through seveval acres out woodland. Plenty of wildlife to see from the caravan, well spaced pitches. Will definitely be back.

Oaklea a peaceful oasis

We have just returned from four nights at Oaklea CL. The site is about 1 mile from Woodhall Spa in open countryside. It is without doubt one of the nicest sites we have stayed on. The caravan pitches are set amongst trees and shrubs looking out onto a lovely large grassed area. All round the site are hundreds of trees, shrubs and plants all lovingly laid out and each one labelled. You can wander around for ages just taking in the flora and smelling the delicate rose blooms. If you have a dog it is doggy heaven! with a large wooded area at the far end of the site with pathways meandering through it. There are local forest walks, the roads are flat and quiet, so great for cycling. Woodhall Spa is full of quaint character with plenty of places to eat including the Petwood Hotel with its RAF themed bar. Pleanty of things to see and do in Lincolnshire and loads of wartime airfields, museums. The east coast is also very near. In conclusion full marks to the owners, Mr and Mrs Kalinowski for a beautiful site. Su and Dave Nottinghamshire

A Hidden Gem

Having just spent a fabulous weekend at this CL we can only give it the highest recommendation. We have a large, heavy unit and the hard standing that is kept for such as us was perfect. Pamela and Piotr are the perfect hosts with no problem too large or small. A more glorious setting is hard to imagine and with a 20 minute walk into Woodhall Spa. A nature lovers paradise with an abundance of birds, flowers and trees plus many walking paths into the woods. If ever a CL was there for you to relax and unwind than this is the place.

Oaklea CL

Oaklea CL is a beautiful and peaceful site. The gardens and woodland are maintained to a very high standard and display the care and attention and hard work by Pamela and Piotr. Each tree and shrub has a name label to identify it. This is a wildlife and gardeners haven. The caravans are well spaced apart, with water taps close by. Pamela and Piotr are lovely, genuine people, who welcomed us on arrival and allowed us to choose where we would like to pitch the caravan. This is a stunning CL waiting to be discovered in Lincolnshire. We will definitely return when the spring has arrived properly to really appreciate all this site has to offer. Thank you to Pamela & Piotr for opening their garden to caravan club members.
