Wild, peaceful, beautiful, but...

This site is a total contrast to the neat and tidy fields studded with electric hookups. We approached it along a narrow winding lane with few passing places. Luckily the large truck we met was at a passing place, but we had to reverse 50 m with the caravan to let a white van past. The instructions say *Turn into farm road, the site is immediately on the left". But on the left was a steep bank covered in bracken. So we carried on, past a large field full of sheep, to the farmhouse, to find out where to go. Mr Richards said, "Anywhere in this field, or anywhere in the field back there." So we returned to the sheep and found a reasonably level spot close to the road to set up. the tap was not too hard to find, but it took me a while to realise that the upside down refuse bin dug into the ground in the long grass was the sanitary disposal. The sheep took a liking to our solar panel, and I had to put it on our picnic table. The views were great and the only sound was sheep chomping. There is a lovely walk down to the Wye in about 15 minutes. We discovered tha the access route from Newbridge was much easier: follow signs off A470 to Brynwen, then keep turning left.
