We stayed here for a week 17-24 Aug. We were greeted by Keith who was really helpful and friendly. We had the option of where we parked up and we chose the hardstanding, only because our van tends to get stuck in wet weather. The other option, the field, is really spacious and well maintained. We liked the security gate and never had a problem getting in or out as the lane does not have a lot of traffic using it. As for the helicopter , which has been mentioned in previous reviews, we never saw it during our stay. All in all this is a lovely site with lovely owners and we will definitely be back.
A lovely weekend to recharge our batteries
We came here again to recharge our batteries and relax. Lovely level site with nicely cut grass. We were given the choice of where and how we wanted to put our caravan. We like the security of the electric gates. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and it was nice to chat to Keith in the evening. We will definitely be back and the hard standing will be a bonus for winter caravanners and we look forward to trying them.
Love this site
I would like to clarify something about my previous review as someone has asked if the owner of the cl is making more pitches, the answer is no he is just updating the hard standing pitches into fully serviced pitches
Love this site
I’ve stayed at this site many times (I’m here on site at the moment) and will return again and again. I have read the poor review for this site and I must say I totally disagree with it. There can be a few tractors going along the road at the side of the site but this is farming land and tractors are expected. In all the time I have stopped here I have witnessed the helicopter once and it was quite exciting to witness it. Don’t let this review put you off the site is great . The owner is building some new hard standing fully serviced pitches in the next field so it is easier for winter touring and motor homes. Easy access to lots of attractions, what’s not to like :)
Back to stay on this great CL
Came here 18/6 to 25/6 and back again this week 8/7 for another stay. As retired couple we enjoy spacious & peacefulness of this CL. We have stayed here several times throughout the past 2years & the private owned helicopter owned by neighbour does not take off daily. You may see occasional coast guard helicopter overhead & the odd Chinook. We're already booked to bring grandchildren in August.
Terrific views, well maintained, but not so tranquil...
Let me explain my ratings:
Peace and Tranquility - The nearby road is busy and traffic noise is fairly constant from early in the morning, although quieter at weekends. The neighbour keeps a helicopter in the next field and uses it most days.
Access to local places of interest - The coast is accessible by car, but its a long walk. The footpath from the site has a broken style and is overgrown (not on the CL site owners property).
Beauty of surroundings - Definitely the best thing about the site. The views of the countryside are terrific and we were treated to a hunting display by the local barn owl most evenings. The site has good facilities and is well maintained.
Ease of arrival - The site has an electric gate with an intercom system. While waiting for the gates to open/close your outfit is blocking the lane (although its not busy). We were met by a lovely lady who explained everything on the site, but had to go and find the owner to pay before we left.
Also worth noting that when we arrived there were already 6 units on the site. The site was big enough so as not to seem overcrowded, but there were 7 units on site for 4 of our 5 night stay.
Weymouth at Whitsun
We spent a lovely 9 days at Rodden Barn during the Whitsun holiday at the end of May. Lovely welcome, will definitely return for another holiday.
An amazing site to stay on when visiting Dorset.
We found this quiet site a couple of years ago & return every time we visit Dorset as it's so near to coast & countryside & all the best Dorset has to offer in this area. We've stayed all seasons (on grass & hardstanding) with grandchildren or just by ourselves & our dog. There is room for everyone & the children can play on the spacious lawned area without disturbing those that enjoy relaxing by their vans. Definately a family CL. The security gate gives added peace, lawns well kept, service points clean & we noted on our Easter break that Keith has set out a dog area to encourage owners to use it for those necessary moments with a dog bin provided. We look forward to our summer break & to the proposed upgrading of the hardstanding area for our next winter break. Thank you Keith & Paula for starting this CL & adding happy caravan stops to our travels.
Easter Break
Once again we`ve had a fantastic break just before Easter and stayed on till Saturday as the weather was so good. We love coming here and will be back again.
Kind regards Alan ,Jeanette Eric & Sheila.

Lovely site.
This site is ideal if you want a peaceful stay, the views are lovely and grass kept well. We mostly use C/Ls and if this site had toilets and shower it would be top of our list. The most outstanding thing for use is the lovely owners the nicest we have met. Down side TV reception very poor.
We will be back again.
