Great Site

We enjoyed 11 nights here at the beginning of June. We were met at the gates and given a key to the electrically operated gates , good security. Plenty of room for 5 vans, good level grass , cut and clippings collected. There is a great little shop/cafe in the local village, good for a bite to eat or local produce. There are too many attractions within easy reach and would need to return which would be a pleasure. Highly recommend, but then we might not get a pitch!

Would recommend

We were accommodated at very late notice by Paula. The conditions in the area were pretty tough after Storm Brian's passing. There were three units on the drive, by the barn, and us on the gravel drive that accesses the paddock. Keith helped us out with an extra 25m cable and we were "up and running". There is minimal road noise on site - nowt to worry about. Beautiful views. Easy access to Weymouth etc and loads of local walking. The site is very secure with electric gates and I would fully recommend this site. Thanks for your help Paula & Keith!

A great stay

We stayed here 10 days at the beginning of September 2017. We were told to ring the owners, half an hour before arrival in order for him to open the gate. What a surprise when we drove in! We went up a lovely driveway, with newly planted trees on either side. The owner gave us a electronic key to open and close the gates, which gave us knowledge along with the CCTV that our caravan as safe and secure. Nothing was left open for any outsiders to enter (Even the plumber had to wait outside until the owner opened the gate) The chemical dispose site was the best I have seen on a CL (Not a manhole in the ground). We enjoyed this site so much we will be coming back in November. It was 10 minutes to Weymouth, and just 7 minutes for my son to go fishing on Chisel beach. The owner checked the site every day and made sure it was clean and spoke to us on many occasions to see if we were enjoying ourselves. Excellent! We have christened THE PONDA ROSA!

Perfect site for couples or families

We first stayed for a week as a couple in May 2017 with our dog. Then we bought our two grandsons for a weeks stay early August. Plenty of lawn space to play with other children away from fellow caravanners enjoying the peacefulness surrounding this little gem. There is a quiet lane at one side of the site and a main road just further up but not a disturbance. The site us well kept with clean disposal waste water, rubbish area and drinking water pipe easy access. The owners are welcoming and hand over an entry fob as the site is secured by electronic gates. They are happy to oblige with your arrival times and, if possible, allow you time to pack up and go at your leisure. A rarity in our 20 years caravanning. Ideal site for all attractions in this lovely part of the world. We will visit again.

July 2017

This is a really good site. Very flat, great views and even a security gate. The grass was short and everything was neat and tidy. Keith and Paula are very friendly and helpful, we saw at least one of them most days In the village about a mile away is a nice pub and an excellent farm shop and cafe with really friendly staff .The shop also sells daily papers. Sadly there's not a path between the site and the village so you need to drive We have a dog and there is some excellent walks on the hills just north of the village, well worth a look Abbotsbury is near, great for cream teas, and of course Weymouth Dorchester and Bridport aren't far away Certainly worth another visit

rodden barn farm

Keith and Paula were very welcoming to their nicely lawned site and generally left us to our own devices (but any time they went up or down the drive they looked over and gave a wave). The disposal point looked newly installed and the bin area was kept tidy. There was a little background traffic noise during the day but it was quite at night. With so much around to see and do there's no need to stay in during the day anyway. Would we go back? YES there's still more for us to explore see and do in the area. Thanks Keith and Paula keep doing what your doing because it works for us.

Loved it !!

We have just returned from 10 days on this lovely site. We were on hardstanding overlooking the large CL field. A Little traffic noise but absolutely not a problem for us. Keith the owner was friendly and welcoming and very keen that our stay was as pleasant as possible. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Lots of walks in the area on inland ridges, the Coast Path and on interesting Portland. Toilet waste area not so good but Keith plans to replace this soon. Thanks for for an excellent 10 days.

Disappointing

A lovely flat site in the rolling Dorset countryside. A large spacious field with plenty of room to set up. Within an easy drive to both Weymouth, Dorchester and Abbotsbury. A nearby pub means eating out is an easy option. Now for the disappointing! We arrived to be greeted by a lovely man who was camping next to us, not the owner. In fact for the whole week we were there, I didn't meet or see either of them, my husband did, but only when he went to get the fob to get in and out and to pay. The site is close to a road which has constant traffic on it and was at times very noisy with bikes zooming along at high speeds. There was no peace and quiet! Worse than that was the helicopter in the next field taking off on a regular basis! Despite the other campers being dog owners, any disruption from our 4 legged friends came from the owner's dogs, not the visitors, when their son brought the dogs down and allowed them to run and bark at all and sundry. The waste disposal facilities were disgusting. In fact my husband said they were the worse he has ever seen and totally unhygienic! The rubbish and recycling bins were filled to over flowing and not emptied at all in the week that we were there. During our stay a lovely couple from Germany arrived, not CC members, but they also were allowed to stay on the site and then on the Friday another van arrived and so, although there was plenty of room, we were now a CL with 6 vans on it!Totally against the CL rules.

Lovely site with wonderful views

We have just spent 10 night here and had a lovely restful time. There is electricity on site and the review from Heskeths say's it all, a lovely little gem of a site. We will be back.
