The best!

We have never stayed on a better CL. The owners, Dawn and Andy, made us feel welcome and valued from the moment of booking, with an introductory email, then meeting us on arrival, followed by a welcome chat over a cuppa. We had only booked for one night but it coincided with their weekly 'fire pit' evening which was a lovely touch. We were encouraged to help ourselves to fruit from the trees (the plums were delicious). From start to finish they were friendly and helpful, we left feeling like friends who would be welcome back any time. The site itself is beautifully kept and set up for easy use. Access is straightforward. As dog owners, we appreciated being able to walk from the site and Welshpool is close by. We look forward to going back and exploring the area properly.

Great cl which is ideal for Welshpool area .The owners Dawn and Andy made us very welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay . They organised a great fire pit night and nice tasty breakfast baps for departure day. The views from the site are amazing and they kindly gave us apples from their trees . Very friendly and helpful hosts

We arrived a day early as I got my dates mixed up. Dawn and Andy were very accommodating and had space for us. We had a fab stay. Had a welcome chat from Dawn and Andy and they explained the facilties. They let us pick apples and plums from their trees and we had a lovely apple crumble for tea. Was nice and quiet on site. We walked to Powys Castle from the site and had a lovely visit there. A must see for visitors. Can't thank Dawn and Andy. Enough for making us feel welcome. We will be going back there when the castle is open.

The secrets out

We arrived at Severn Lodge on 18th Sept and stayed for 6 nights - there is not a lot more to be said of Dawn & Andy that previous reviewers have not said already. However it’s suffice to say that we have been Caravan Club (now Caravan & Motorhome Club) members for 45 years now and have visited so many CLs of varying shapes and size and we have to say we cannot ever remember one that stands out so much for hospitality. Dawn and Andy really do treat you as they have known you for a long time. They are also willing to learn from members too and that has to be a very positive trait to have. We wish you the all the best for the future and we shall see you again soon. Graham & Sandra

Simply the best.

Gorgeous spotlessly clean site with fantastic views. Andy and Dawn treat you like old friends, with a lovely personal warm welcome chat they informed us about the site and all its facilities. They even asked us to help ours to apples and damsons off their trees. They are knowledgeable about the local area and can recommend lots of things to do. Whenever we saw them we were greeted like friends who actually listened to what you say and who are genially interested in you. They both go above and beyond what We would expect from a site owner which was a brilliant touch. The local town is a couple of minutes cycle and has a choice of 3 supermarkets and a lovely old town to explore. We cycled along the Montgomery canal which I thoroughly recommend. There are lots of walks nearby and this is a great base to explore. Andy also makes and sells bespoke planters and other wood products, so make sure there’s room in your unit!!! We stayed 4 nights in our tour through Wales and will definitely be visit again. In our opinion this is the best CL site we have stayed at.

Lovely site, perfect hosts

Lovely, well kept site, with beautiful views. Easy access to walks along the Montgomery Canal and into Welshpool. Dawn and Andy were perfect hosts from arrival, where they tell you about the facilities on the site and things to do in the local area,to departure with the breakfast bap provided by Andy if you stay more than two nights. Really enjoyed the fire pit night.

Severn Lodge Welshpool

Dawn and Andy gave us a fantastic welcome and told us all about the area. They invited us to visit their lovely garden and to help ourselves to apples and damson including Pink Lady apples. It is an easy walk/cycle into Welshpool and also well located for visiting other places in north and mid Wales. We stayed 2 nights and on departure Andy cooked us a really delicious breakfast bap. They are a lovely welcoming couple and nothing is too much trouble. The site was really clean with sanitizing wipes and beautiful views over the adjacent maize field to local greenery and hills. We would really recommend this site and cannot wait to go back. Please visit if you are in the area Pat and Willi

Well worth a visit

If you want a peaceful site, with views, very close to Welshpool then look no further. This excellent site is well worth visiting. You'll be warmly welcomed by Dawn and Andy who have worked hard since to improve this site since taking over ownership. You will be made to feel like a valued visitor as they take time to sit and chat with all newcomers. Their friendliness and knowledge of the area is one of their many assets. Their breakfast baps on the day of departure were the icing on the cake. We can't wait to return.

Nice site, lovely couple

We stayed here last weekend in August, lovely site, but could be a bit tricky during wet weather as the pitches are all grass, we arrived and parked up, Dawn and Andy came over and we had a nice chat where they told us about the site and area, we were also one of the first visitors to sit around the Saturday night fire pit, with the other guests, which was lovely. They also have fruit trees that you are allowed to pick what you want. on our departing morning Dawn arrived with the breakfast bap, which was great and very welcome, will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Great couple.

Lovely couple.

The only thing I can add to the previous reviews, we came away with eating/cooking apples and pears from their orchard. We will definitely be returning. Thank you both for a lovely couple of days. (Plus that fantastic breakfast) Dawn, I hope you have been dead heading your roses.
