Lovely site

Arrived later than we had planned to a warm welcome by Ruth, and stayed for a week to explore the area.  Beautiful view from the site, and we had it to ourselves for most of the time.  Yes, it's by a reasonably busy B road - so are lots of sites - but the noise was not obtrusive.  As to the "industrial" estate - not a peep all week.  Thanks Ruth for a lovely week (and not a drop of rain all week in September !)

Top site

We had a very warm welcome at Severn Lodge, and found all the facilities easy to access. Although small, this CL has some lovely views, the hedges are low, so we in no way felt closed in. Plenty to do in the area, walking into Welshpool takes no more than 20 minutes and walking to Powis Castle about 50 minutes via the deer park. Everything for the caravanner who enjoys a no frills CL with 16 amp hook-up, and the quiet enjoyment found on an Adult Only site. I'm sure we will be back. It was good to see a younger couple running a CL, and running it so well.

Well Worth a Visit

Visited the site for the first time, stayed for a week nice location, great views, although we had a great deal of rain the site drained very well. We were greated by Ruth who was very friendly and gave us all the information we required. Take care when entering the driveway to the site from the road you need a wide swing. Worth a visit Powys Castle National Trust and the local pubs. We will return in the future

Wonderful little site.

Yes, it is as good as all previous reviews. Phil and Ann are both lovely people and very helpful. The site is very clean and tidy, you can tell they have put in a lot of time and energy to make it what it is. We would love to return and explore more of the area.

What a winner

Just had 4 nights at this wonderful site with it's lovely views across the countyside to the church. One of the best C/L's we have stayed at. A 10 minute walk to the shops at Welshpool and the railway station. We have never been to this area before but what scenery, a short drive takes you to Lake Vyrnwy and further away Llyn Clywedog near Llanidloes. You will not be disappointed with this site, the wildlife the birds but more than anything else Phil and Anne are brilliant hosts nothing is to much trouble.

What helpful owners and lovely site

We had booked on this site for 3 nights. It was only Saturday Morning and our old dog of 15 was not to well. We told the owner at lunchtime that we would very reluctantly have to leave early. They could not do enough for us, such kind and lovely people they are. They would only let us pay for the night that we had stayed, that is going above and beyond in our book. The site itself is very easy to find, it has all grass pitches, the toilet emptying point is very well kept as is the bin area and water point in fact all of the site is immaculate. Welshpool is only a few mile away and a nice town. The views from the site are stunning, we will return at some point. thank you for your help and support.

Airshow weekend

We had planned to visit the area and chose this weekend for the local airshow, chose the site for its position close to Welshpool. Fantastic weather for the whole of the four days. Lovely welcome from Phil and Ann and very helpful all weekend. The site is lovely, well kept and perfect for our dogs as the public right of way leads out of the site into open field, perfect for that early morning walk. The surrounding area has lots to do and is very beautiful, the town is close enough to walk in or a very easy drive if needed. We will be back again next year for the air show and maybe even before!

Gateway to Mid Wales

We were here to support a relative walking the Offa's Dyke Long distance Path which passes close by. We had a lovely reception from owners Phil and Ann who were able to advise us on the local pubs, restaurants shops etc. (as well as the local factory shop supplying wonderfully unhealthy gateaux, cheesecakes and other desserts -throw out the lettuce and fill the fridge!). The only drawback was our unfortunate timing with the neighbouring farmer choosing to muck spread for the whole bank holiday weekend, but that is what makes the countryside what it is, and the view is still beautiful from the site. There is plenty to do and see in the area and Welshpool is an interesting town and the trip to Shrewsbury only took about 45 minutes. Walks from the site are good along the banks of the Severn and even though not a birdwatcher I recognize Red Kites, Buzzards, goldfinches and even a woodpecker. I would like to come back if my satnav leads me this way again!

Excellent weekend !

We decided to opt for a site not to far from home with plenty of things to do. The site was beautiful and well kept. We walked into town which was only 10 mins away and had all the shops we needed. Behind the site is a footpath which takes you alongside the river which was excellent to take our dog for a walk. We also visited Rodneys column which is nearby with spectacular views. The owners were very friendly and accomodating and fuill of information about the surrounding area. We also had hardstanding which at this time of year is a must. Would definately recommend for a weekend or weeks holiday, Very easy to get to.

winter weekend break

We arrived to an extremely warm welcome from our hosts. We had the choice of siting our van in the paddock or on a hard standing area. As we were only staying 24 hours we opted for the hard standing area and remained hitched up ready for off. Water access was close and convenient as were rubbish bins and chemical toilet disposal facilities. We chatted to the owners about the local area and found the pub they recommended for food and drink very good. We would certainly come back again and can not emphasise enough how friendly and helpful they were.
