Why stay here ...

This is a family run site standing in the grounds of a Grade II listed building, built in 1852, originally part of the Leighton Estate and oozes charm and character as well as an abundance of fruit trees. An historical avenue of oak trees and stunning countryside views await you.

Severn Lodge is situated in the Welsh borders in the small village of Leighton and is a short 10 minute walk to the town of Welshpool with its good pubs and restaurants, Powys castle, museum and canal walk. The river Severn flows nearby - the site commands wonderful views towards Leighton village and the hills beyond. You can go on a short drive to visit local attractions such as Glansevern Hall Gardens, Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway and Lake Vymwy, a stunning large reservoir.

We run a tranquil site with beautiful views catering exclusively for adults. Well behaved dogs are equally welcome. Access to the site is easy as the drive to the property leads off the B4381 Welshpool to Leighton Road.

No car charging on site.

Special site fantastic views

Severn Lodge
We stayed at Severn Lodge for 6 nights at the end of May. Arrived to a warm Welcome from Dawn. And both Dawn and Andy made us feel very welcome. Nice clean site, easy walking into Welshpool, good countryside walks, all with the added bonus of home made Cream teas and Friday night is Steak night. And a breakfast bap when you leave. An BBQ nights in the summer. This site is well worth visiting for more than just one night. We will most definitely be returning.

Wonderful site in beautiful surroundings, with a personal touch

Severn Lodge
We stayed at Severn Lodge for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Dawn and Andy were brilliant at looking after us and made us feel very welcome. There was a complimentary breakfast bap for us on leaving day, which makes all the difference when you have to pack up on your last morning. The site has wonderful views towards Leighton village, Offa Dyke and the surrounding hills. Welshpool is a 15min walk away (can recommend the Corn Store (Restaurant), the Bake House (Pub) and The Raven Inn (Gastro Pub). Will definitely visit again.

Great CL

Severn Lodge
We stayed here over 4 nights over Easter, and then stayed another night as it was so nice. Was expecting as it was a Bank Holiday that there would be more than 5 units on site, but gladly found that the owners Andy & Dawn do stick to the 5 rule, unlike so many others. This made the site wonderfully relaxing. All facilites were poined out on arrival and are handy. Ramps/chocks are needed on some pitches. A footpath to be found at the back of the site for dog walks. Easy walk into Welshpool for all you need. Great site and a credit to the owners. We will be back without a doubt when in the area.

Great site

Severn Lodge
Had a short stay here as a stopping point on a longer journey - but it was great. We shall certainly be back when we revisit this area.

What a little GEM of a site

Severn Lodge
Very good communication leading up to our visit of 3 nights stay at Severn lodge. We had a very warm greeting by Andy+Dawn on arrival. We arrived with friends and were able to be sited together. The site was very clean tidy and well looked after, all services were close to hand and clearly identified. The grounds are beautiful surrounded by fantastic views and abundant fruit trees .the river Severn is close by ,we were able to have a couple of mornings fishing whilst the kingfishers entertained us . The BBQ on Friday night which Andy and Dawn cooked was optional but so glad we participated .it helped us to meet others on site and a good evening was had by all , the food was scrumptious especially Andys home made lemon meringue pie . We shall return hopefully for Dawn's homemade cheesecake on the next BBQ . Welshpool was only a few mins away by car .Andy and Dawn were a wealth of information of things to see and do in and around Welshpool. 3 days of relaxing was had and we will very much enjoy returning to this gem of a site Severn lodge and to the friendliest hosts we have ever met . We thoughly enjoyed our complimentary breakfast baps on the morning of our departure ( bap if staying 2nights or more ) it was most appreciated Thankyou for a most enjoyable friendly stay at Severn lodge just praying when we want to visit again there will be places for us as I think you are going to be very popular in the future . Kind regards best wishes Bill Kate &Amanda xxx Ps thanks for the cooking apples
