Why stay here ...

Under New Ownership.

Open 1st March to 30th September.

This is a family run site standing in the grounds of a Grade II listed building, built in 1852, originally part of the Leighton Estate and oozes charm and character as well as an abundance of fruit trees. An historical avenue of oak trees and stunning countryside views await you.

Severn Lodge is situated in the Welsh borders in the small village of Leighton and is a short 10 minute walk to the town of Welshpool with its good pubs and restaurants, Powys castle, museum and canal walk. The river Severn flows nearby - the site commands wonderful views towards Leighton village and the hills beyond. You can go on a short drive to visit local attractions such as Glansevern Hall Gardens, Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway and Lake Vymwy, a stunning large reservoir.

We run a tranquil site with beautiful views catering exclusively for adults. Well behaved dogs are equally welcome. Access to the site is easy as the drive to the property leads off the B4381 Welshpool to Leighton Road.

Great site

Severn Lodge
Had a short stay here as a stopping point on a longer journey - but it was great. We shall certainly be back when we revisit this area.

What a little GEM of a site

Severn Lodge
Very good communication leading up to our visit of 3 nights stay at Severn lodge. We had a very warm greeting by Andy+Dawn on arrival. We arrived with friends and were able to be sited together. The site was very clean tidy and well looked after, all services were close to hand and clearly identified. The grounds are beautiful surrounded by fantastic views and abundant fruit trees .the river Severn is close by ,we were able to have a couple of mornings fishing whilst the kingfishers entertained us . The BBQ on Friday night which Andy and Dawn cooked was optional but so glad we participated .it helped us to meet others on site and a good evening was had by all , the food was scrumptious especially Andys home made lemon meringue pie . We shall return hopefully for Dawn's homemade cheesecake on the next BBQ . Welshpool was only a few mins away by car .Andy and Dawn were a wealth of information of things to see and do in and around Welshpool. 3 days of relaxing was had and we will very much enjoy returning to this gem of a site Severn lodge and to the friendliest hosts we have ever met . We thoughly enjoyed our complimentary breakfast baps on the morning of our departure ( bap if staying 2nights or more ) it was most appreciated Thankyou for a most enjoyable friendly stay at Severn lodge just praying when we want to visit again there will be places for us as I think you are going to be very popular in the future . Kind regards best wishes Bill Kate &Amanda xxx Ps thanks for the cooking apples

Another brilliant stay

Severn Lodge
Dawn and Andy are the most helpful, friendly hosts you will find. This was our second stay with them this year and, as CL’s go, we can honestly say it’s one of the best we have ever visited in 40 years of caravanning, and that’s down to Dawn & Andy - it’s as simple as that, thank you again!

Superb

Severn Lodge
This would be our CL of the year! The site looks great, grass well cut, flower displays, facilities spot on. The relatively new owners are enjoying running the CL and this is apparent in the hospitality they offer - a personal welcome, offers of help if you need it and a complementary breakfast bap when you leave (if you stay 2+ nights). Whilst we were there, Dawn and Andy put on a BBQ night for guests so we enjoyed good company and great food. It was a our second visit and it felt like returning to stay with old friends.

A great site with friendly and helpful owners.

Severn Lodge
We spent 4 nights here in June 2021 with our dog, intent on discovering the beauty of Welshpool. Dawn and Andy could not have been more helpful, always willing to give advice and directions. The barbecue put on for guest is a great way of meeting others with Dawn and Andy making you feel you had been friends with them for years! We are enthusiastic walkers and limited by our motorhome, we walked everywhere. After the briefest trip through the industrial part of Welshpool, the town is interesting with good pubs but the thing that made the holiday for us was the walks along the Montgomery Canal. We walked 10 miles on each of two days ending in a meal and a couple of pints at local pubs . Going south we arrived at the Horseshoes Inn for a good quality pub restaurant meal. Going north the following day we reached the Powys Arms where the atmosphere was so tranquil with the food home cooked and exceptional. Stunning day out. The real star is the Montgomery Canal. If there is a more beautiful canal anywhere, then we haven't found it. Worth going for this alone and we will be back soon enough. Thank you Dawn and Andy and see you soon.
