Super CL

It’s a pity we had not been here before - a superb CL. Well laid out with plenty of room for each pitch and views across Richard & Nicola’s farmland. A quiet CL although if the wind is coming from the north you may hear some traffic noise from the A46 but not excessive. Easy access to Newark and Lincoln and surrounding countryside. We were made very welcome and certainly won’t be our last visit. Thank you to both Nicola and Richard.

Wow!

It would be very difficult to fault this site. Level pitches well spaced out with views. Very easy access from main roads. I wanted to cycle into Lincoln and Nicola was very helpful in pointing out a cycle track that started 4 miles away from the site (accessed by an easy and fairly flat ride on quiet roads). The cycle path is fully tarmaced so can be ridden on a road bike and the path drops you right into the centre of Lincoln. Wonderful! I also understood that there was a cycle path nearer the site but ran closer to the main road.

Lovely week

One of the first visitors when site opened on freedom day. Our second visit. An excellent site, very well maintained, fully serviced pitches, plenty of room and very peaceful. So nice to be back in the van. Nicola and Richard friendly and very welcoming with lots of information and we were blessed with the weather. We will certainly be back

Gem of a site

Lovely little CL. Easy access and secure. Beautifully kept. Surrounded by green fields. Fully serviced good sized hard standing pitches. There are walks directly from the site through farm land and surrounding countryside. Lots of wildlife to see. Owners very friendly and helpful. Plenty of places of interest around and good local pub within walking distance. Will be going for the 4th time next year and looking forward to it.

LOVELY CL

First visit to Skybarn Farm, and a lovely welcome from Nicola, who is friendly, helpful and informative, without being intrusive. It was a pleasure to finally meet her, after numerous emails (answered very swiftly). Booking is easy, via their online booking service, payment via bank transfer. A deposit should have been taken at time of booking, but at that point it was uncertain whether COVID would mean cancellation, so it was several weeks before a deposit was requested. The site has all hardstanding, level, fully serviced, pitches,(electric, water tap and waste drain), CDP, dog/boot wash, free WIFI and information hut. There is a dog walk around the fields and also to the pub in nearby Aubourn (we didn't venture this time, due to the pandemic). Yes there is some road noise from the A46 if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction, but the easy access far outweighs this. Lincoln is easily accessible, with the Cathedral, castle and Steep Hill in the older part of the city, there are lots of shops, both chains and independents, as well as supermarkets. Newark, in the opposite direction, is also easily reached. Whisby Nature reserve and Doddington Hall are both within easy reach. The Lincolnshire coastal resorts are about an hours drive. Lincolnshire Wildlife park is probably the same, and worth a visit. Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage at East Kirby airfield is a good day out, with the Lancaster bomber, Just Jane, in the process of restoration, plus access to the various buildings, housing WW2 displays. Must also recommend Fish King in North Hykeham (about 4 miles away), excellent fish and chips and very generous portions at a reasonable price. ordered and paid online, they email when your order is ready to collect, the restaurant is closed at present due to COVID. Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Skybarn Farm and would readily recommend to anyone wishing to visit Lincolnshire.

Yet another week at thus excellent CL

This CL is a great choice for us, being just an hour away from home. It is easy to book online, all instructions and advice is clear and precise. Nicola and Richard, the hosts, ensure your stay is perfect, with a nice welcome. The site has electric security gates, the pitches are all fully serviced hard standing, well spaced, and plenty big enough. This is our chill out site, we love it.

Keeps getting better

First time back for nearly a year due to the pandemic of 2020. While the site has been closed Nicola has ensured the time was not wasted. Elsan emptying point is now nicely enclosed so people don't have to watch you clearing up your business and a boot/dogwash has been added so you can get things clean before going into your unit. Also a path has been put in across the grass to the bin area/information but which helps prevent wet feet from the few soaked grass if you are too lazy to walk around the road (or too tired after a day walking in the surrounding countryside) The site itself is a little gem, every pitch is harstanding which helps when you get rain due to the clay soil not being free draining. Each pitch is also fully serviced so once set up there is nothing more to do other than relax and enjoy the friendly welcome from Nicola and the dogs.

Great Site

This site is excellent. This is not our first visit to this site but it is our favourite site. From Booking to arriving we were kept up to date . A worm welcome when we arrived from Nicola. Electric gates make it feel a safe site. The site is well spaced out and the improvements that have been made this year only add to this site. Muddy paws wash facility for the dogs, recycling point, pitches made slightly bigger and with it being all serviced pitches who could want for more. I would recommend this site to anyone. We have already booked for next year. David

We will be back

Had last weekend at this excellent site, fully serviced pitches and immaculate, booking process very easy and was kept informed by email at all stages. Excellent for walking the dog with easy access to Lincoln and nearby cycle ways a credit to the owners. Some noise from the A46 but what do you expect when booking a site close to a main road! Getting our 2021 calendar out to book again.
