1st Time on a CL!!

We have never been on a CL before and if they are all like this club sites are history.! from booking to arrival everything was easy and efficient.  Upon arrival a very warm welcome from Nicola and our 3 night stay passed wonderfully. The site is flat, with well spaced hardstandings, a good information hut and brilliant dog walk. Some road noise but did not spoil our stay and it is a small price to pay for easy accessability.

Well-kept level site with hard-standings & free Wi-Fi in a convenient location

We visited this CL with our 11-year old son.  The owners are great and the site is well-kept.  Free Wi-Fi was really useful - we might not have got into RAF Scampton without it. Our style of caravanning is to visit local attractions rather than stay on-site, and there are plenty to see nearby.  Here are some that we would like to share: Huge International Antiques and Collectors Fairs at both Lincoln and Newark (the CL is mid-way between the two). Lincoln Castle - recently restored and we needed 2 days to see it all. Lincoln Cathedral - near the Castle. RAF Coningsby - home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre. Tattershall Castle (National Trust) - near RAF Coningsby. RAF Scampton Heritage Centre (home of 617 Dam-busters Squadron) - visits must be pre-booked and this is where the free Wi-fi at Skybarn Farm came in useful - http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafscampton/heritagecentre/heritagecentre.cfm The Museum of Lincolnshire Life - visit at a weekend so that you can go inside the nearby Ellis Windmill. Belton Hall (National Trust) - a large country house with huge adventure playground.  This is the third most-visited National Trust property in the UK and was where the Machine Gun Corps trained during WW1. The CL is very convenient for the A46.

A warm welcome

On arrival carried out the instructions given over the telephone when booking. Press the button and hey presto our host answers and the gates opened. No sooner had we sited our caravan than we were welcomed and given essential information about the site.  A lovely well kept site with good access. Our host was everything you could ask for and more. We will return to this lovely well kept site.

Would highly recommend

Very pleasant spot with delightful and friendly owners. Site very easy to find and was advised over the telephone to press buzzer on gate and owner will give access. Worked a treat. All pitches hardstanding, access to additional freshwater tap in farm yard for motorhomes for easy filling. Very reasonably priced and included electricity. You can also buy fresh eggs from the owners. We booked this mid afternoon on a Saturday after deciding to visit the Newark Air Museum whilst travelling back down south, and were lucky to secure the last pitch. Would happily visit again.

A little Lincoln gem

Its easy to see that this is a CL run by members for members. A mini club site without the toilet block! However, not even the Club does free Wi-Fi.... Easy access from the A46 makes Skybarn Farm a great stop over if you're travelling further north or heading south. A lovely site with a warm welcome from Nicola. We will be staying again!

Excellent CL

On site as I write courtesy of the free WIFI. Lovely welcome and a detailed sheet of local amenities given.  All flat hard stands. Good TV and fine dog walks from the site. The local pub recommended is simply superb. But booking recommended. We will certainly return.

Another lovely site

We stayed here towards the middle of May whilst working our way back home and enjoyed 4 nights here. It's an immaculate site, the oilseed rape was out while were there, adding a touch of colour to our surroundings, the sun shone, and we had a large piece of grass to sit out on when the air was warm enough. The site is within easy reach of Lincoln and although the main road is quite close, the traffic noise doesn't really intrude. The Lincolnshire countryside is very open and all the farms seem to be arable, the reason, presumably, for the size of the fields and also for the wide-ranging views and clean look of the county. This is another site we would be happy to return to if in that area again.  In addition, the price per night is also very reasonable.

Relaxation

Its tipping it down outside as I write this using Skybarn farms WI-FI hotspot, which is an addition to the site since my last visit, as are all the new hardstandings.  I came here first time round to be near the hospital my mother was gravely ill in, the out come there was not good sadly! However we always said we would like to come back to Skybarn Farm.  A year later we made it back, my work commitments got in the way of coming any earlier. The site is much improved but was in top order before. Its easy to get to just off the A46, with a good access by way of a coded gate with CCTV as well, making your pride and joy very safe when you go out! The owners are very good and quick to respond to any communication that you make. The information shed is full of things to do with a sensor light which comes on as you go in (nice touch) the pitches are billboard level with good hookups to hand. This is a working farm, but you can walk the farms internal tracks taking care to be aware of any machinery movements, however we never saw any all weekend. We saw a Barn Owl sitting right outside our unit along with Bats flying around. All in all a good weekend was had and we will be back again, its just a case of when!

Thanks to the owners for providing a top class CL site.

Outstanding CL

Can't really add much to previous reviews other than to confirm how outstanding this CL is. Richard and Nicola are the nicest people one would want to meet and have done everything within their power to make this an excellent site. Being caravanners themselves, they know what they value and have made sure that this is provided for their guests. A lovely warm welcome, neatly presented site with usual facilities and plenty of space around hardstandings. Excellent information hut which also houses extra chairs (if required for visitors), and extension cable for EHU if required and an OS Map to borrow if heading out on walks. Lovely dog walks around the fields. This is an ideal spot for visiting Lincoln and surrounding areas. There is some inevitable road noise from the A46 but after a while, this fades into the background. We can thoroughly recommend this site after staying here for a week in May.

Skybarn Farm

A warm welcome awaits you at Skybarn CL situated on an arable farm close to the A 46 road. Access is through a key pad security gate. A hard core roadway gives access at all times to the 5 hardstandings, each with ample grassed space for awnings. The well stocked information point contains a comprehensive collection of information leaflets. Free Wi-Fi and the availability of fresh free range eggs were most welcome. A bonus for us was to watch, one evening, a hunting barn owl only a few yards for the van. This was our first visit. I am confident we will return.
