Wonderful Easter at Skybarn

Found this hidden gem thanks to the clubs forum, as the owners are regular posters. Welcomed onto the site by the owner who showed us where everything was and gave an informative welcome sheet with directions to shops etc. 5 very neat, large hard standing pitches with plenty of space between. Very easy to access the site from the A46. As an arable working farm there are sometimes tractors etc passing from the farm yard, though not intrusive, neither is the traffic noise from the A46. For the doggies there is a field next to the site where they can be exercised, or use the tractor path if not in use by vehicles. The site is lovely and relaxing, and as such deserves plenty of praise. We have already booked our return.

what a wonderful cl

We stayed at skybarn farm for 9 nights just prior to easter what a well thought out cl this was with 5 good sized hard standing pitches and very handy for Lincoln,we were given a very warm welcome on arrival and although it was very windy for a few days we really enjoyed the peaceful break we will certainly be returning and this will be on our list of regular sites to visit plus a good site for Motorhomes

'A Local Gem'

Only 25mins from home our did we miss this one !, warm welcome on arrival, the site is very well set out all pitches are hardstanding, waste, water, chemical point and recycle all clearly marked, complete with lights if needed. Information hut to let you know what you can see or do out and about. Gates on the entrance work on a code which makes the cl very secure. Well done to you all for making this the ideal CL to come and stay and see the area, or have a lazy chill out weekend.

Superb!

We have just spent two nights at Skybarn Farm cl. It has to be one of the best we've stayed at. Upon arrival we were made very welcome, all the sites facilities were explained to us and we received a quality leaflet explaining everything we should wish to know about the site, our stay and local facilities. Absolutely brilliant in my opinion. The owners clearly understand what people like on a cl, they have spent a great deal of time, money and energy creating this excellent site. Although the weather was wet and windy our spirits were not dampened. We shall without question return in the not too distant future. A big thank you to our hosts and well done for creating such a fine example in your site.  Graham and Jo White

Everything you could want

5 Hard-standings, great facilities, free wifi, electric hook-up and field walks with your dog. Secured behind electric gates and convenient for Lincoln, Newark-upon-Trent and both Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire showgrounds this site is everything you could want from a CL. We would not hesitate to return.

lovely site

Mrs Wetherill was very welcoming on or arrival and not intrusive at all and left us to carry on with our Pitch in peace. we loved being able to walk our boxer(Millie) around the edge of the fields on the farm which is a big bonus to us. Overall a very relaxing site with very easy access off the A46. We will be returning very soon and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this Site

A great CL

Stayed here for Feb half term. A well set out site, with easy access, and good facilities for a CL. Especially good is the wifi which is far better than that on most club sites. Access from the A46 is simple and the site is well located for Lincoln and other local attractions. We'd definitely use it again. Hard standings provided, but the field was also OK despite the recent rain, so if you don't get hold of one of the 3 hard standing pitches the rest of the field is still OK even without a 4x4.

Likely to be a firm favourite!

We chose to visit this CL as it is ideally placed for Lincoln and the surrounding area, but far enough away from the City to be a quiet and relaxing place. All I can say is that from booking to departure the whole experience was a pleasure. Easy to find and get onto site, but with good security via automatic gates. The pitches are a very generous size, we had a very level hardstanding, with EHU close by. Easy to use waste, water tap and recycling, the information hut is full of leaflets, guides and magazines, and the lights work automatically which is great for full hands and less light pollution! The dog walking straight off pitch is along well mown grass verges at the edge of fields so is perfect, even in the depths of Winter! Our dogs loved it as you can give them a proper walk. The CL area is generous, fenced and has some plantings, no doubt a riot of daffodils in Spring! Being only a short distance from the A46, there is a little bit of traffic noise, but nothing excessive and it does make getting out and about easy. Twenty minutes easy drive to Cathedral, which can be seen from site. Newark is fifteen minutes in the other direction. There is lots to do in this area, we can recommend the little Transport and vintage vehicle museum in North Hykeham just 10 minutes away. Very good free wifi for those who like to stay connected. This is a lovely, well thought out CL, a credit to the owners Nicola and Richard, who deserve the wonderful reviews they have gathered since opening. A welcome second to none, thank you!

What a find!!

As other have said, the site is easy to find, very flat with 3 large H/S pitches as well as plenty of room on the grass, for those that prefer it. There is a coded security gate, a well appointed information cabin with walking and cycling leaflets as well as the usual tourist information, and free WiFi!! There are plenty of walks close by and many of the local villages have free parking at Community Centres/Village Halls. Lincoln is a cycle friendly city with many specific routes in and around it. The nearest supermarkets are Asda at North Hykeham, 2 mls away and Aldi 1 ml further along towards the city. The fields by the site are grand for taking one's dog for a walk and one might just see a Golden Eagle!! The nearest pub is about 2 mls distance, but I can't say how good the meals are. Nicola, Richard and the 2 Springers made us very welcome and were most helpful with local information. The only down side is that one can hear the traffic noise from the A46, but it didn't disturb us too much. We will certainly return as even after a 15 day stay over Christmas we didn't get to see all that we wanted.
