Good site but scary entrance !

The site is lovely but the entrance was a bit scary . My husband who was towing said it was fine ! The owner is great he put boards down to help with the mud and he loaned us a box so we could watch TV .

A Great Find........

Great little site for a base of visiting Matlock & surrounding area. Access to the site is moderate but easy to find, the pitches may be a little hard to negotiate if you haven't got a mover and unable to reverse a van but are a decent size and privately hedged which is nice... There are no toilets or showers however they're on the van anyway so shouldn't be a problem. There are no childrens play facilities however it is a safe site for them to play. Owners are very friendly & as said a great base with a bus stop at the bottom of the farm lane or you are able to walk into cromford down the road then by the side of the canal (approx 20-30 mins walk)

A Cracking Scenic Site

The entrance drive doesn't prepare you for this wonderful site, the track off the road is tricky but keep a steady pace and is easily negotiated, and boy is it worth it. The views from the site are wonderful, wildlife abounds with circling Buzzards and a wildlife garden on the site, walks leading from the site. The pitches are wonderfully maintained. The owners are extremely helpful but not intrusive. The site is ideal for exploring the Peak District with Matlock on the doorstep Dovedale, Edale and Castleton a short drive away. Overall a cracking CL with everything you need.

Tucked away little gem

We stayed here for a weekend and it was ideal for visiting Matlock and local areas. It was well kept although quite small every pitch was separated for privacy, with good views. TV signal poor but satellite boxes provided which was excellent.

You couldn't ask for more!

This is a truly lovely CL, and for us, represents just what we like about being Caravan Club members. A lovely location, tucked away on the edge of woodlands, with a historic mill on your doorstep, wonderful canal side walking and lots of industrial heritage close by, as well as interesting towns and villages. From enquiring to booking, arriving to leaving, we felt so welcome and valued as visitors. There is no fuss, just a note telling you which pitch to use, and any other details you need. The pitches are lovely, landscaped with mature shrubs and small ornamental trees, giving colour and interest and attracting lots of bird visitors. We loved the individual pitches, and had no problems siting our MH. Service points are close by, EHU is 16amp, so very generous, loo waste has a purpose built disposal point, and there is onsite recycling. Everyone gets a free TV booster, as signal is poor without, but these are steep Derbyshire Valleys!  This is a great site for dogs as well, straight out into Woodlands Trust Bow Wood, full of wild flowers and lots of paths to explore. There is a small dog walk field adjacent for quick walkies!  There is a lot to see in the area, we walked the restored Cromford Canal, Richard Arkwrights Mills are close by, as well as Matlock and Matlock Bath with all their wonderful history, walks and attractions. The cafe at the Cromford end of the canal is a nice place for refreshments, and you can get about well on local transport. Definitely a CL to use again and again, one of the best, thank you Mr and Mrs Hitchcock!

CL in a garden!

The CL is quite small but is well laid out in what feels like a garden with lots of shrubs and evergreen plants. It is very well organised with water points, toilet waste, bins etc well sited and well identified. LocalPlacesOfInterest is great for dogs with large woodland right next to the site & a canal only 1/2 mile away. There is no pub within easy strolling distance but plenty a short drive away. There is no TV signal but the owner does provide a free view box for a £1 per night, we didn't use it though. We stopped for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it for walkers and lovers of the country side.

Excellent site

We stayed here from 16th - 18th August 2014 and will be returning. It is a beautifully landscaped site with lovely views. It is immaculately maintained, in a quiet location near Matlock Bath. We loved the individual screened off level pitches. We found the site owners very pleasant and helpful. Facilities on site : drinking water, grey water disposal, toilet disposal with hose, waste and recycling bins, electric hookup, satellite TV hookup.
