A great find

From the initial phone call to the valuable communication (during COVID) and finally meeting Lara was superb. It’s a lovely site in a little village. We arrived with our 8m and 8ft wide caravan and squeezed through the road and into the field. It was probably easier leaving than arriving and Jules kindly moved his car so we had more room. Lara runs a cafe (sadly closed this summer - COVID) and makes homemade produce from her back garden! We had the takeaway cream tea for £10 for 4!! Scones were a delight and the jam was just gorgeous so we had to purchase a few for presents! Recycling facilities are great on site where you sort your rubbish and Lara even has a compost bin. All so invaluable in this day and age. Kids loved getting the water and hubby emptied the toilet in a toilet- he did comment it had the potential for splashback. There is a footpath that runs through the field- this was used mostly in the evenings by locals walking dogs on leads. A river runs at the side. Whilst kids could play in this of an older age it is certainly not for our kids (8 & 5). Lara was helpful for the local sites, including a walk down to Lodmoor if you park at the park and ride - safe for kids biking too. Must see is Abbotsbury village with the church and playground. Lots of cafes available. Weymouth was too busy for us to maintain distancing so can’t comment but we enjoyed the crazy golf at the Sealife, Lodmoor Would we go back- absolutely though we may choose to get a smaller van!
