Lovely C L

We love this CL it was our third visit so far and hope to use again next year. So peaceful, no passing traffic, wonderful village with shop and two pubs plus a canal with good walks. Plenty of space between pitches too. Sylvia Davies.

A woodland weekend

We broke up a long drive with a weekend here, just off the M5 and it was lovely. A hidden field in the woods. We walked the towpath, watching the boats go by, up to the next swing bridge, which brought us to the top of the longest village green in England, with several lovely pubs, and, a gorgeous coffee and cake shop, which led us back to the site. Oh and a full re enactment of St George and the dragon, on the village green( but that was st georges day) . A very peaceful and beautiful weekend.

Lovely site in quaint estuary/canal village

Easy access from M5. Was booking this site for overnight stop to Cornwall but having googled the area booked for two nights - could have stayed a week! Firstly I think it should say EARLIEST arrival 12.00 as it’s a very narrow approach and meeting another unit would be tricky to say the least? Directions need to be followed carefully as previously remarked and note the site is a further 500 meters beyond the house so don’t pull into the house driveway! Instructions printed out at front door -I took a photo of them 🤷‍♀️ They are clear instructions however and we proceeded to the site easily. Large circular area , level and well kept. 5 mins walk to Splatts bridge on the Gloucester and Sharpness canal and River Severn estuary beyond. Great area for walking and cycling. Shop pubs cafe etc walking distance. Didn’t get to meet the owner but good communication via mobile. Is on our visit again list for sure.

Just beautiful

This site is just beautiful! It’s a real hidden gem. We stayed for 2 nights at short notice, and we were very pleased to be able to get in. The site is a circular green surrounded by trees, with the canal running next to the site. If you want to walk along the towpath, you need to go back along the lane and cross the bridge. Very peaceful, no traffic noise. It was wonderful to sit and listen to the birds all around. It’s £18 a night now, not the £16 shown on the website. One of the best peaceful sites we’ve been on, and could quite easily make this a regular place to go. Thanks to Mike and Caroline

Quiet site

We have stayed here several times for one night as a stop off close to M5. Would happily stay longer. It is quiet, peaceful and well kept. Nice walks from the site and the village is lovely. Bit tricky to find so directions need following carefully. Highly recommended.

Excellent site for peace and quiet

This CL site is amazingly quiet and peaceful. We stayed here for 1 night and it was lovely. We had a lovely walk into the village of Frampton-on-Severn and had a coffee and cake from the lovely cafe in the quiet and quaint village. The welcome from the site owner was great and we had a brilliant stay, we would recommend this to anyone.

Great M5 retreat.

Chose this CL for a break in the journey to Devon, easy to find and so relaxing. Beautiful village and did some canal walks from site. Only stayed stayed two nights but could have stayed much longer. Recommended.

First time on a CL and loved it

We are new to motorhoming and because of the Camping in the Forest sites failing to open this year I had to look for an alternate site to replace one of our booked forest sites. Found this site on the club website and it was close to the area we wanted to be and offered country side so we could stay away from others because of the virus. This was the first CL we'd ever stayed on and absolutely loved it and will return. Several country walks local to site and also a very pretty village to walk round.

Lovely, peaceful site

We had just bought our van and wanted somewhere, not too far away, to get ourselves familiarised with it. Tanhouse Farm is a circular field surrounded by trees. The site is flat and the grass kept short. Each pitch has it's own EHU. The site is quiet and has plenty of options for dog walks. Our visit was during the pandemic and the site had ample hand sanitising gel at various points. A 10 minute walk gets you into Frampton on Severn which is a lovely village with a shop on the village green, apparently the longest village green in England, and a pub, The Bell Inn. There is another pub, The Three Horseshoes which was temporarily closed during our visit. The Gloucester Sharpness Canal is very close to the site and it's a 30 minute walk along the canal towpath to Saul Junction which has a lovely cafe. The energetic could continue walking from here to Gloucester Docks! Access to the site is good via gated access and is a little off the road so may not be immediately obvious. Contact the owner for directions.

Very peaceful site

This is a lovely secluded site just outside a very pretty Gloucester village. The site is flat and very peaceful. You just call at the owners before siting your unit, and you are left to your own devices. The village has a couple of pubs - the Three Horseshoes seems to be the locals, and we really liked it. Nice post office village shop which has basic requirements. Good walking and cycling along the canal. You may just feel a little isolated if you were the only one on the site - but I can't imagine that happening very often as it is such a lovely situation
