Fabulous

This site is fabulous. Ross makes you feel very welcome and is full of information about the area, always happy to talk about his farm. The site is on A WORKING DAIRY FARM, so you have to accept there will be moo-ing and noise quite early in the morning. We are early risers so not a problem for us. The cows also attract lots of flies, so make sure you have your fly nets down. They weren't too much of a problem for us, we still ate outside and enjoyed the lovely views of the surroundings. The local pub is only half a mile or so away, very welcoming and we had a lovely roast there on the Sunday. The farm is part of an old Manor estate, the Manor House and church are adjacent to the site. Lots of history to discover. We used the Tarka Trail many times, flat or only gentle inclines. We do not have e-bikes and managed to put the miles in, riding as far as Yeardle and, the other way, to Fremington Quay. There are plenty of coffee and cake stops along the trail so you can take your time. Bideford is only 3 miles away. We had a lovely week there and would definitely return.
