Lovely, Peaceful, Well Looked After Site

Gary & Andrea gave us a warm welcome on arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Gary is very knowledgeable about the local area and attractions, suggesting a number of options depending on what we wanted to do. I forgot to bring my levelling blocks but Gary sorted that out for us as well. Nice local pub within walking distance, good food & beer. Toilet block was warm & clean, EHU's on each pitch and water/waste point close by. A lovely spot if you want a quiet peaceful break with beautiful views. We will definitely be visiting again.

Peace and quiet

We stayed three nights on the site in our motorhome in April 2016. We were met by owner Gary who was very friendly and helpful. The 5 grassed level sites were generous, each with great views across an open area of grass towards the Black Country. The waste disposal facilities were clean and well maintained as was the adjacent toilet available to visitors. We enjoyed a long country walk direct from the site, and visited NT Kinver Edge, as well as a trip to the Morgan factory in Great Malvern. A lovely site which we will certainly hope to return to some day

A Happy Ending

We arrived on site after driving down from Yorkshire, unhitched the van,set up and moved the car to the side of the van and .........no clutch pedal. Hydraulic fluid everywhere. That's it we thought, get towed back home and miss our break. Luckily Gary the Site owner had other ideas for us.He put one of the family cars at our disposal!! What Club site warden would have done that? It certainly is a lovely location with plenty of places to visit. The Black Country Museum,Steam Railway,Safari Park and oh yes,one or two shops for the ladies. Even saw a baby muntjac deer competing with the chickens dogs and robins. We'll certainly be back one day. Thanks again for your kindness,Andrea and Gary.

Couldn't be more suited to our needs...

We stayed for six nights in August 2015 in our 2-berth ‘van. We had read the previous reviews and thought the site would suit our needs, specifically it was quiet, rural and offered easy access to the West Midlands. These requirements were certainly met. It was real bonus to find that the site provided magnificent views across the vale to Kinver Edge. The facilities are straightforward, clean and well maintained. A toilet & washbasin are provided in a small, purpose built brick building. This is situated close to the site field, together with the fresh water tap and waste drains. The five pitches were level and bordered by a stone-chip drive, each pitch was numbered and we had been given a pitch number on booking. The edge of the field runs parallel to a minor road, this carries very little traffic. A wide section of ground and a thick hedge separate the site field from this road. Entry onto the site should be taken with care as the minor access road is quite narrow. The entrance is protected by an electric gate operated from a keypad, the code is obtained on booking. We found the (free) WiFi very useful and accessible from our caravan pitch (NB we were located close to the repeater - in the toilet block). The Internet provided an excellent way of finding out about the surrounding area, but don’t worry if you do not have access to the Internet, because the site owner, ‘Gary’, was not only the most welcoming and friendly CL site owner we have met, he also has a great knowledge of what to do and what to see in the region. There are several ‘resident’ occupants of ‘The Bumbles’ – watch out for their collection of rare breed chickens. We discovered these were not too proud to beg outside our caravan door, together with two very friendly terriers. We look forward to staying at ‘The Bumbles’ in the future.

Friendly site

We called fairly late in the evening, having left it last minute as usual. Had a very friendly tel conversation no problem us arriving 30mins later. Lovely spacious site, great views. Very welcoming owners, friendly dogs and chickens. Road noise wasn't a problem at night and didn't hear any barking dogs. Lovely clean loo, with cold water. Very handy for visiting Kinver Edge and the Rock houses which are well worth a visit. Had a lovely walk through the woods, lots of footpaths. Would stay again

Great CL

We visited this site in May 2015, owner Gary very friendly and helpful, pitches well spaced plenty of room, well maintained, the loo was clean with a sink with cold water, the site has lovely views across the countryside, we felt very secure as entrance gate is operated by entry code.  Plenty of walks, and the bus stop is about a 10 minute walk way. We never heard any dogs barking at all. We will certainly be back when we are in the area again as it’s a gem of a site, thanks for a lovely stay Gary.

What a View!

This CL is lies on a hill between the rivers Severn and Stour, and the 5 well cut grass pitches offer extensive view to the East, from Wolverhampton, over Brierley Hill, across Kinver Edge and onto Clent Hills. These view are especially spectacular at night with all the lights. Although the site is close to the A442 there is little traffic noise. The site has a single toilet, a security gate and although it does offer free WiFi we were not able to access it on our pitch, being too far from the ariel. There are lots of interesting places close by, including the Kinver Rock Houses, Dudmaston House and Bodenham Arboretum. We did over shoot the lane towards the site as it states in the directions that it's 0.5mls from the turn off the Main road whereas it is infact about 1/4 ml, along the first road on the left. The price was at the top end of our range for what was on offer, but was convenient for what we wanted to in the area.

Good views

Open grass pitches of a good size with excellent views. The facilities are fairly basic, as you might expect from a CL, so a single WC with cold water only to the whb (and when we arrived the door didn't lock, but that was attended to before we left). Generally peaceful, but dogs did bark regularly during the night, although I don't believe that they belonged to the owner. The grass appeared to be regularly cut and looked very smart, but small quibble was that the cuttings were not picked up and trod in very easily. Generally a pleasant site but we have had CLs that suited us better.
