weekend away to catch up with friends

Great site, access was interesting as approach road is a typical narrow Devon country lane. but once that was out of the way the stay was most enjoyable. Welcome was very friendly and facilities were what was expected. plenty to see and do in the area. Site was well maintained quiet apart from the odd military helicopter. Will stay there again

Quiet and tranquil location

Recently stayed at the Mallards for three nights, very easy to find and good sized pitches. Adrian posts a welcome team message so when you arrive it’s easy to locate your pitch and setup without delay. We’re relatively new to camping, after putting up and attaching the awning onto our VW camper van we realised our mains lead was far too short. Adrian very kindly loaned us a longer lead so we could hookup to the electric. He’s very helpful, friendly and welcoming, keeps the pitches and facilities very tidy and clean. A real haven, very quiet, apart from the sound of the chickens, which we watched endlessly, oh and fresh eggs if you require for breakfast, sold daily. A real bonus was the shower and toilet block. We hope to return again later in the year.

Great CL

We stayed here for 8 nights at the beginning of May with our caravan. The site is a lovely long strip of well kept grass with all units looking out onto open fields, with plenty of space between them. We had a very warm welcome from Adrian, but prior to him appearing our name was displayed at the entrance informing us of our pitch no. The site is approached down a very narrow road and track but hold your nerve, take it easy and you will be fine - the site is worth it.

Beautiful

This was the first time we stayed at The Mallards and it was very pleasant and had a lovely welcome. There’s a ladies and gents toilet and separate shared shower at 50p for a 4 minute shower. The facilities are basic but sufficient. We really enjoyed our stay as did our dog, The view is lovely and the whole stay very peaceful. Well done to you all, Not to do with the site but interesting information, we drove our motor home to branscombe, the road leading to it is very narrow bumpy and steep in places.on arrival there is a height restriction of 2.2 mtrs, that we wish we knew about.

Great stay

We recently spent 10 nights at the Mallards. The owner provided a warm welcome on our arrival. The entrance to the site is down a very narrow lane but one in the site there is plenty of room and pitches are large. The location is perfect for visiting places of interest and easy access to Sidmouth, Exeter and the Jurassic Coast. Recommend visiting Southern Cross tearooms at Newton Poppleford for a cream tea. Amazing value for money and absolutely delicious. The weather wasn't too kind to us whilst visiting but the site was pretty well draining and wasn't too muddy. There are a ladies and gents toilet and shower though we didn't use them. A lovely time was spent at the Mallards. Would recommend.

Excellent week on this superb small site returning from the larger club sites after many years.

Having used mainly club sites when the family was growing up we really enjoyed this peaceful well kept site, made better by the friendy reception from Adrian the site owner and the fact that we had superb weather. Access to the site is quite narrow but the area is quiet so you would be unlucky to meet large vehicles en-route. Facilities are all as described and are kept nice and clean by Adrian who visits the site daily..pitches are a generous size and once set up you have the cows and guniea fowl for entertainment. Within easy travel distances are all the local seaside resords from Lyme Regis around to Brixham...our favourite was Buleigh Salterton which is beautiful, especially on a sunny day. We will definately return to this CL as we loved it so much, grateful thanks go to the owners.

Lovely peaceful site

Stayed here in early July. Well kept large and level pitches, peaceful ,scenic with basic but clean facilities and fresh eggs.Did try local pub Diggers Rest not the place to go if you like value for money, food pretty poor. Best cream tea ever at the Southern Cross in Newton Poppleford, a do not miss adventure. Well done Adrian, great CL.

Loveley Site

Fairly narrow approach but directions clear and we had no problems. Pitches are in a row against the hedge with extensive views and good sized pitches. Owner very pleasant and helpful. Excellent thatched pub in village with good food and pleasant ambience. Footpaths lead direct from the site. Highly reccommended.

What a great find ! A beautiful , scenic site on a small dairy farm. The owner was so very helpful, and friendly , even coming out to help us find the site when we arrived in the dark ! The toilets and showers were clean. It's a beautiful setting - we woke up the following morning to stunning views, lush green fields and shire horses. Perfect !

Excellent

Just returned from The Mallards after spending a lovely week there. Excellent site, lovely views, quiet well kept large plots and welcoming. Enjoyed watching the cows move from field to field and the 3 Guinea Fowl who roam the site Welcoming village pub quite a walk but worth it. Will return.
