Why stay here ...

Situated on the fringes of the beautiful Cathedral City of Exeter and bordering the 'East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (which incorporates the natural World Heritage Site the 'Jurassic Coast') this popular CL site represents an ideal base for discovering the delights of Devon.

Located just 3 miles south of the M5's busy Junction 30 you'll soon find yourself setting up camp in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. A warm welcome soon follows!

The scenic Exe Estuary Cycle Trail is easily reached, as is the traditional thatched 'Olde Worlde' country pub/restaurant just a short stroll away. The site is linked to a neighbouring village via the public footpath through open fields, perfect dog walking territory! For your convenience a Farm Shop with cafe and takeaway is nearby (we recommend the classic Devon Cream Tea!). Tourist information leaflets are available on site, highlighting some of the many attractions in the close vicinity. Further afield the 'English Riviera' of Torbay or the UK's last great wilderness, the 'Dartmoor National Park' is just a 30 minutes drive.

Set on a small family run dairy farm the site offers a level, spacious, south facing lawned pitches with fine views and wonderful sunsets (weather permitting) The facilities boasts both Ladies & Gents flush toilets, each with handwash basin and a large walk in coin operated shower. Electric Hook Ups serves all pitches.

The Mallards CL offer tourers the best of both worlds, combining the opportunity for rural relaxation with the chance to discover Devon's true delights.

Lovely little CL

The Mallards
Just returned from a 5 day stay here. Access is straightforward, the last mile or so off the A3052 is a bit narrow with passing places and the last 150 yards is a bit of a rough track which is best taken at walking pace. Once on the CL, the ground is level, well mown and the pitches are well marked out. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Recycling, drinking water tap and the chemical disposal point are located near the entrance. We didn't use the shower or toilets so can't comment on those. The site is on a working farm so expect to see and hear farm machinery. The area is lovely, with plenty of walks, either on lanes or footpaths. Definitely one to add to the return list.

Lovely, peaceful CL

The Mallards
We have just enjoyed 5 nights at The Mallards and it was our second visit there. As others have said, Adrian the owner is 'about' and friendly but not intrusive. The weather was not great with some torrential rain but as soon as the sun did come out we were quickly reminded of the beauty and tranquility of this CL. It is a little tight to turn in from the path if your van is long but the grass pitches are reasonably flat when you get set up. For some reason we had trouble getting any workable tv signal on this visit but we don't remember struggling the first time - hedges getting higher?? We will certainly return to The Mallards when we are visiting family and friends in Exeter.

A real gem of a CL - perfect

The Mallards
Peace and tranquillity - this site has it in spades. Adrian is the perfect host and keeps the site immaculate. It was a joy to watch the cows go in for milking twice a day and being able to buy bantam eggs on site - what luxury. We will be back.
