Nice CL

Flat pitches, short grass, 3 separate "areas" separated by neat hedges. Very quiet and peaceful. Well located for exploring local area. Area has miriad of little lanes so do follow instructions from Fakenham which were fine. Would happily stay again if in the area.

The Old Playing Field, continues to delight

This was our fifth visit Access is easy, the final couple of miles are single track with passing places so no problem. This is a non facilities site with EHU, fresh water, emptying point and an information hut. EHU 16 amp. Radio reception and EE signal very good. This is an adult only and dog free site. The peace and quiet are a real bonus. Plenty to do in the area and lots of quiet lanes to have a bike ride or stroll. This a dark sky area and for 3 nights of our stay we were given a fantastic star show. Since our last visit the booking system has changed and you can now e-mail Lindy Green

An excellent spacious site

Stayed on this site for 7 nights at the end of September and I must admit to being a bit wary of picking somewhere that only has grass pitches but I shouldn't have been. These pitches are some of the most spacious we have stayed on. 6 to choose from with 6' hedges breaking up the grassed area. The grass was cut short and cuttings picked up. During our stay we mostly had good weather but we did have 2 torrential bouts of rain and the ground didn't seem troubled by it at all. The ground slopes slightly but there is so much space to pitch on that you should be able to find something flat. They aren't allocated. Amperage is 16 amps, grey water into the hedge and Elsan point in a corner near fresh water pipe and near the bins. One general black bin and one for all recycling. The farm house is opposite next to Whey Curd Farm CL, same family. We didn't see the owners but put the cheque through their door. The only real gripe about the C.L. is accessibility. It is fine up until Fakenham then the B1105 takes over to Wells. An undulating road that you will have to treat carefully. The instructions from the owners then have you take a minor road for 2 miles, when about 2 miles from Wells itself. This is a single track road with very small and few passing places. Cross your fingers or ignore it and continue to Wells then onto Wighton by a better road. The actual entrance to the CL is wide and well signed if you follow the instructions. All was peaceful on the CL, hardly any traffic to speak of, sometimes the only noise at night came from the Tawny Owls. There are some cute Swiss Vallais Blacknose sheep kept by someone by the site which are very photogenic. Access to Wells is easy and one can use the back roads or the main coast road to access places like Binham Priory, Walsingham, Blakeney, Cley, Brancaster, Titchwell etc. Food shopping is a bit awkward but we found Leftleys in Wells and the Co-Op to have most things for a short stay. If you head to Sandringham then call in at Tesco or Sainsbury's on the outskirts of Kings Lynn or use Morrisons at Fakenham. There is a caravan accessory shop near the Co-Op. If we wanted a CL in the Wells area again we would have no hesitation in using this site.

What a lot of space!

This is the biggest CL we've ever stayed on. Large flat pitches with hedges for additional privacy/wind protection. Didn't see anything of the owners, but guess that's not that surprising in times of CoVid. All the site facilities are very obvious, so no big deal. Site is really close to well marked cycle routes .

Yet another fantastic stay

Three weeks of peaceful countryside with plenty of space to each pitch. All of the facilities we needed, fresh water, chemical waste and general rubbish disposal. Nothing else on site but that suited us just fine. Very pleasant conversation with Mr and Mrs Green when booking for next year !! Excellent value and well kept tidy pitches all with their own hedge boundaries for added privacy. They even ordered the good weather!! Thank you.

Lovely CL-Rude Owners

Stayed here for four nights and they seem to have double booked us and were very confused who should be staying where as they have a few sites, so make sure it is very clear when you book as when it came to paying I was made to feel like a naughty school boy and told I should have only been there for 2 nights and have caused her no end of problems. I have never been spoken to so rudely before and I was the paying customer! If I spoke to my business customers like this I would be shut in a week. I`m never one to leave a review but I thought you should know what to expect.

Just right after lockdown

First CL visited after emerging after the lockdown. This was my fourth visit but Mrs Ones first. The site is large and well set out so no need for close contact. This is a non facilities site with EHU, fresh water, emptying point and an information point, although not open at this point. All EHU posts and waterpoint etc had bottles of sanitiser attached. This is an adult only and dog free site. The peace and quiet are a real bonus. Plenty to do in the area and lots of quiet lanes to have a bike ride or stroll. Mr & Mrs Green are a lovely, obliging couple.

Loved it!

Our final stop touring around the south/east coast, and one of the best. A few lanes to negotiate, with passing places, but fabulous cl. Spot on facilities, level beautifully cut lawn and close to village shop and pub, Supermarkets a little further out. Perfectly situated to visit all the coastal towns, local villages and churches with some intriguing history. The weather wasn't always on our side but that didn't matter, we had onsite entertainment with pheasants, partridges and three huge hares, which called by most nights. Would definitely go back. Thank you Mr and Mrs Green. Hope you enjoyed your fish and chips! X

Norfolk gem!

This Bank holiday weekend was the first time we took our motorhome onto a CL site. We were very impressed! Lovely kept pitches, spacious with a hedge row in between. If all CL sites are this well looked after we are in for a treat! We took our road bikes and loved all the back roads. Very quiet. Will definitely go to this site again.
