A gorgeous little site.

This site was easy to book online via the Hendreclochydd Farm website. Each pitch has water, grey waste drainage and EHU. We walked down to the lovely, long beach via the caravan site opposite which allows CL visitors to access it. We visited Portmeirion, Harlech and the Talyllyn railway while staying. We also went up to the fabulous viewpoint at the Panorama Walk which looks over the estuary and the bridge at Barmouth. The view over the sea and hills from the site is great especially when there is a sunset. Well done to the Williams family.

great views

Greta sit and had a lovely stay , John and Grace very welcoming , Facilities are cleaned regularly and are very clean shame that the shower is no longer available ,wouldn't mind paying a bit extra as site is a bargain at £20 with hookup water and gray waste on each pitch. Sunset from the site is spectacular and it is very peaceful will be returning next year .

First Class CL

This CL has level, hard standing pitches, each with hook up, waste disposal and water tap. There is also a very clean and spacious toilet block. There is also a waste point for motor caravans. As such it represents excellent value for money compared with other adjacent commercial sites. The situation is quiet, with elevated views over Cardigan Bay. You can walk to the long very tidal beach, by courtesy of the large commercial site opposite, and on the other side of the road and railway line between Barmouth and Harlech. All in all a very well run CL with enough interest locally for a 3 or 4 night stay.

Check up on facilities

Stayed for one night in June 2022 a site will kept but be aware the site directory states shared shower this no longer the case as it is not available. The steep hill leading up to the site could be a problem if your have any mobility issues.

Spectacular scenery

Access to the site from the A496 coast road is straightforward, albeit up a steep driveway. However, before that the route takes you through Barmouth with its roads of varying widths, parked delivery vehicles, low stone walls & holidaymakers who aren't always aware of what's going on around them - not for the faint-hearted! Pitches are sloping & we needed blocks under our jockey wheel to level ourselves up, but once you're all sorted the views of Cardigan Bay to the front & the hills behind make it all worthwhile. And if you're lucky enough to get a good sunset (we had to wait until night 7 of 8) then caravanning doesn't get much better. We were lucky enough to be allocated pitch 5, which is set apart from the other four & has the most space and a view of the sea from your front window. Grace & John are very friendly hosts & the site is well maintained. Since the photos on CAMC website were taken they have extended the access road up between pitches 1-4 & 5. Just a couple of points to bear in mind - although each pitch has its own tap, there is no individual grey waste drain. Grey & chemical waste disposal are both located up a grassy slope at the back of the site, which can be a bit of an effort if you are wheeling a full container on wet grass. Buses run along the main road, although they don't run very frequently after early afternoon & the one morning that we waited for one to go into Barmouth it didn't turn up, so we walked. On another day we caught the train from Barmouth to Aberdovey, which is a lovely scenic route. We would recommend Norbar for food, just make sure you book in advance as even in the second week of September we struggled to get a table for dinner when booking a few days in advance.

Loved it

A nice warm welcome from John. Lovely CL with brilliant views over the bay. Nice long walk into Barmouth, which was very nice indeed. £6 back in a taxi if you don't fancy the walk back. Just couldn't fault the site. We will be back!

A site to recommend

July 2019 - 4 days Indeed no signs "The Orchard," and a bit confusing where to announce your arrival. The is also a Caravanning Club site on the same property and both sites share the same toilet accomodation. But a nice site it is. We were not lucky with our neighbours who were a bit noisy. Plenty to do in the area. Beach access is not easy. You have to cross a busy road and a mobile home estate.

Great Site

We have just spent 2 weeks here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Far enough away to get away from it all and close enough to get the best of the area. The site is about 2 miles from Barmouth which is walkable. The site is well laid out on a slope and all the pitches have a view of the sea. The pitches are levelled out on a hardstanding so no need to level the outfit. The grass is well maintained and cut regularly. The toilet block is new and is shared by the 2 sites, one being the Caravan & Camping Club and this one (Caravan Club), it didn't seem to be very busy with both sites being full. This one has water on every pitch, so no filling the hog daily. There is a bit of a slope to the entrance but nothing too challenging. There are a couple of niggles. The entrance could be more clearly indentified as it would be easy to overshoot it, just look out for the flag, Welsh of course. As somebody else mentioned the chemical toilet and grey water waste hoses should be longer to make flushing a little easier. The train station at LLanaber is about a 15 minute walk which is a request stop, quite novel. The train journey both ways have interesting scenery and worth the effort not sure that the end destinations are up to much. Make sure that you plan your train journey, especially southwards, as you need to change trains in the middle of nowhere and there can be a long wait if you choose the wrong train time. They only run every 2 hours. Also, there are 2 restaurants within walking distance that are very good. All in all this is a very good site and well worth a visit.

One of the best...

Lovely welcome by Grace and John. We love walking and there are some stunning walks around with a short drive. Check out your maps! Norbar is an excellent bar/restaurant and indeed “take away” within walking distance. Isis (yes I know !) Pizzaria by the Barmouth bridge is well worth a visit.(check their opening times) A Guinness at the Last Inn a must, Thank you...a relaxing break.

A lovely CL.

No-one could complain about this CL, Mr Williams clearly works hard to keep it nice, but, I would like to make a constructive criticism. The hosepipe at the chemical disposal point is not long enough to allow users to swill down around the top of pot. Everyone who uses these facilities is aware that in the interest of hygiene it is necessary to ensure that all the area is swilled down after emptying the cassette, but here with such a short hose this is just not possible. this apart I would not hesitate to visit The Orchard again.
