Superb CL

Just returned from 6 nights at this CL and what a great place it is to stay! The large hardstanding pitches were well spaced each fully serviced with a grassed area and picnic bench, really couldn’t be better! This is a well set up site with a friendly owner who is around but not intrusive and the further bonus of wi-fi and the wonderful woods to walk in with plenty of wildlife including those rare Beavers. We didn’t get more than a glimpse of a Beaver at dusk, but their work was evident and fascinating, and we did see Kingfishers and the curious Lamas peeping over the fence. As mentioned earlier do follow the directions and not the Satnav to avoid getting onto difficult roads, although the last couple of miles are a bit narrow this is rural Devon so only to be expected. The payback being complete peace and quiet and no light pollution, so you can see the Milky Way. Loads to do in the area, we could have stayed longer if only they weren’t fully booked. We really look forward to visiting again.

Word's are not enough

Just spent seven wonderful night's at Venn farm. Well worth the journey from Blackpool just to see this site. Attention to detail of all the facilities for the beautiful well maintained service pitch's are second to none with the added bonus of wi-fi . Lamas Beavers and all the rest of the animal's simply outstanding. We have stayed at many CL sites in 20 year's of caravaning but this is simply the best and should be given an award. Woodland work lake bench's for every one large pitch's field's to walk the dog's and enjoy. Leaflet with all the information and important number's you need. And a lovely welcome. Wish it was closer would spend every weekend possible at this site.

True peace

We have just spent 9 wonderful nights at this site, set in the rolling Devon/Cornwall countryside. The pitches are very spacious, with all services available, which helped to offset the fact that the site has no toilet facilities. (It would be worth screening chemical disposal point, both for the benefit of the occupants of the pitch opposite and for those 'doing the business'.) There is a good free WiFi system, which allows you to keep in touch with the outside world if you want to. Take a picturesque wildlife walk through the woods to the ponds with their colony of wild beaver. Also ample dog walking facilities. Out and about the site is within good distance of Launceston, for provisions or you can go slightly further afield to Tavistock - which is a lovely market town, discover Dartmoor or take a trip to the beach at Bude. Make sure you follow the directions from the site and don't take any SATNAV detours before you reach Launceston on A30 - we'll know that for next time, because we will be returning.

Excellent site

We just had a lovely 2 weeks at Venn Farm, and there's no doubt we will return. Andy is a very friendly man, and while he isn't around bothering you, if you need any help, advice, or just a chat, he is there for you. The site is very well maintained including the woodland walk paths. Lots of wildlife to see, but unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to see the beavers, however their presence was clear to see. We had had a few weeks of drought and the water levels were low, this I suspect was reducing their activity. One thing I would mention for anyone visiting, the hard standing pitches are very generous, and if you want to place your van on the opposite side of the pitch to the water and waste services, then a hose extension, or long hose is needed, I needed around 15 meters each of water and waste hose. This isn't a criticism, more a compliment of the pitch size. There's plenty of spaces to walk you dog. Overall, it's everything we want from a CL site, very peaceful and quiet, no road noise, or light pollution. Thanks Andy, we'll be back.

mini break

we have just spent a week on this brilliant C.L. . It is one of the best C.Ls you would ever want to stay on, the entrance is wide, its easy to find, the pitches are big and level and are fully serviced, at night there is no light pollution its pitch black, the grass is cut short, the only sound you hear are coming from nature, the owner was very helpful ,the walks on their land are endless, there isn't a bad thing you can say about Venn Farm C.L. it is spotless, and on our first night we saw the beaver!! many thanks for a top place to stay ,

Brilliant site

Best CL I have ever visited. The whole site is immaculate from the even hardstanding fully serviced pitch to the walks into the woods. There are beavers in the ponds and the site has lots of squirrels and woodpeckers. The owner was superb who empties the bins every day and mows the grass on the pitch as soon as you leave so it is ready for the next caravan. I would highly recommend this site.

Possibly the best CL on the network

Having been members for 45 years we have stayed on lots of CLs and become quite discerning about standards. We stayed at Venn for 19 nights in May before moving to Cornwall (should have stayed at Venn). One of my criteria for judging the interest and commitment of the owner is the wc emptying point this one is as good as they get, stainless steel purpose made and it reflected Andy's genuine commitment. The site, walks, wildlife are all as other members have stated. £13.50 per night for a more than generous hard standing, fully serviced pitch with free WiFi is quite frankly ridicously cheap . The one and only downside for us the fact it is 300 miles away, otherwise we would be there every month! Thanks Andy we had a truly wonderful stay.

Best CL we have ever stayed on

What a little gem of a site. Large, level pitches. All hardstanding and fully serviced. Peace and tranquillity day and night. Excellent dog walks from sight. Very warm welcome from owner. Always there to help if needed. Little village St Giles on Heath just 2 miles away, has village shop and village pub (Pint and Post) serving excellent food. This is such a great site why am I telling everybody!!!! Just one note of caution, sat navs do not work around the vicinity of Launceston! Motorhome owner

A Little Piece of Tranquility

We have just spent a couple of nights at this lovely cl site and a bonus of waking up to a lovely blanket of snow, which made walking through the woodland walk even more picturesque. Andy was very welcoming and checked to make sure we were ok. Very flat spacious pitches. The wildlife was amazing especially the bird feeder.. woodpeckers were a frequent sight. The Beavers have been busy and built 2 amazing dams. there tail trails were easy to see in the snow as well. Looking forward to visiting throughout the year.
