Why stay here ...

Venn Farm CL with its fully serviced pitches is set on a peaceful conservation farm situated on the borders of Devon and Cornwall, in its own tranquil and unspoiled river valley. The adults only site is accessed by a leafy farm track and has stunning views of the surrounding open countryside.

All five pitches are fully serviced and have level hard standings, their own electric hook-up, drinking water supply, grey water disposal point and free Wi-Fi connection. We welcome dogs on the site and have our own private mixed woodland in which visitors are welcome to walk.

The site is located centrally between the towns of Launceston, Holsworthy and Okehampton and is within easy reach of the North and South coasts of both Devon and Cornwall. It is ideally placed for visiting Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor. The Cornish villages of Tintagel and Boscastle are within 30 minutes drive as is the popular seaside town of Bude and the Devon market town of Tavistock. The larger towns of Plymouth, Barnstaple, Exeter and Bodmin are all within an hours drive.

There is a local Post Office and shop 1.5 miles from the farm and the Cornish town of Launceston offering supermarkets, shopping and restaurants is 6 miles away.

Roadford within 5 miles is the largest lake for water based activities in the South West. It also offers fishing, walking and has a lakeside café and gift shop.

Beautiful site

Venn Farm
This is one of the best CL sites we have visited. Goes the extra mile with your own picnic table. Own grey waste and water tap. Well maintained and very peaceful. Owner was very friendly. Very good value for money. Will return.

Quiet and Peaceful

Venn Farm
This is a lovely peaceful and quiet site, with spacious pitches. We were there for two nights the last weekend of June. It’s well maintained and attention given to Covid safety. We would agree that the directions in the Caravan and Motorhome handbook need to be changed, as has already been mentioned. We were in a Motorhome and luckily another person staying at the CL told us about the alternative route past Roadford Lake. Much easier journey. We had torrential rain there one night, but there were no issues with flooding. We did have a problem with accessing the free Wi-Fi on the first day we were there, but it was fine the following day. Hope to stay there again in the future.

What a find excellent CL

Venn Farm
Very spacious site probably the best we have stayed on, I can only reiterate with the last review ie extra water hose & directions to the site. Recommend a visit to Tintagel only approx 45 mins away, just to see the new bridge.

Couldn't be better

Venn Farm
I agree with everything that has been said in earlier reviews so I'll not repeat everything. This CL is just perfect with a lot of attention to detail and site maintenance. There are, however, a couple of points that I would like to make that might be helpful to members. If you are on pitch 5 the water tap is on one side of the pitch and the drain on the opposite side. This means that you may need an extension for your fresh water hose. The other point is the directions to the CL in the CaMC handbook. This guides you in from Launceston. This route can be very difficult through Launceston, especially with a caravan. There is also about a quarter of a mile long hill with a gradient of 1 in 5. This is about half a mile from the CL on a fairly narrow lane. I strongly recommend that the CL is approached from the opposite end. The roads are a lot better. Leave the A30 approximately 6 miles east of Launceston signed to Roadford Lake and Broadwoodwidger, . At the first T junction turn left and follow the road past the lake, (well worth a visit). Continue for about four miles on this road. At the next T junction turn left and follow the road for about 1½ miles. The CL is on the left. Much of this route has been totally resurfaced unlike many of the Devon roads! Just sorry we didn't see any of the beavers (although we saw all the dams and trees they has felled). There are innumerable species of birds, many coming to the onsite feeders. Thankyou Andy and Tina for creating and maintaining such a fantastic CL.

Vent Farm could not be better

Venn Farm
It really is quite difficult to think of what could be done to improve this site. The location is peaceful and quiet with beautiful views to both Cornwall and Devon. The immaculately maintained fully serviced pitches are large and well spaced. Each with its own picnic bench and some screening to provide further separation. There are several well maintained woodland walks and you might even be lucky enough to glimpse one of the resident beavers. Our arrival was easy and well organised. The COVID “hands-free” arrival means there was no personal greeting, however the owner Andrew is quick introduce himself and offer a welcome when sanitising each pitch when vacated and other common touch points. The site is ideally placed to make visits easy to all that these two counties have to offer from the north coast to the south coast and all that is in between. We found ourselves though very happy to return from our daily explorations to relax and enjoy this most enjoyable of temporary homes, one we will look to find an excuse to return to very soon.
